The Metro H2 from Mendham Bikes blows this out of the water for almost half the price shipped to your door. Assembly is easy with basic tools or Mendham will refund up to $75 to have it professionally assembled.

Would this be good for a beginner riding in local parks? I see at least i would have to change the tires

Local parks as in paved or gravel/limestone bike trails? Absolutely.

Is there a particular reason why you'd want to change the tires?

Sorry I mean in mountain biking terms. Going up and down hill but no jumps. With dirt and rock trails

I wouldn't recommend the Metro for any kind of mountain biking. You may want to take a look at the Able RBL Sport or Univega RM29 either of which should be $280ish with coupon code KEVCENTRAL. Two other good entry-level options would be the Ozark Trail Ridge or Kent Trouvaille.

Thank you! I'll look into them. I would only be doing beginner stuff

Looks like $100 difference ($350 vs $250). I'd buy the Specialized because if I had to sell it, I'd probably make that $100 back on resale value and it'll be sold alot faster. If this is gonna be a grocery getter, the Mendham might be fine as it'll probably never be stolen (no one knows/wants a Mendham).

$187 shipped vs $350 + shipping. Specialized is a better-known brand, for sure, but hopefully nobody is buying either of these bikes thinking they're going to get their money back out of it down the road.

I want a simple comfort a bike to drive around the neighborhood subdivision. Can you elaborate Metro H2 vs this Specialized bicycles?
