All I can add is that Samsung low end tablets are very poor compared to the Chinese competition. They do high end very well though.

Thanks OP! My S6 Tab battery was starting to show some significant degradation and the FE version is pretty much equivalent in processor speed and RAM but has a bigger battery, 2x storage plus I'll get another 4 years of OS upgrades/support. For $130 after trade-in it was a no brainer.

Interesting. The S7FE is worth $300 on trade, but only against the non-edu price of $399. I just need to decide if I want to trade up or hold my S7FE for another year or two. It's like third in line as a backup device, so I'll probably just wait.

Does Samsung still do the thing where security updates are only done quarterly (instead of monthly) after the device is a few years old?

I think it is also worth going from 4 gb to 8 gb of ram. I have the older version of the s6 lite so it makes it better than if you have the 2024 version.

I feel like this deal is best if you have an older version of the s6 lite lying around. The other deal for the s9 tablet with the $300 off for any android tablet trade in is the way to go if buying for a trade in.

S9FE is not the best tablet, but it's not bad at all in the grand scheme of things. I traded in my S6 for it hoping to see Samsung offering decent trade in value for S9FE, but alas it hasn't made it to any of the trade in list yet.

It's heavy tablet IMO. But it works. It's not AMOLED, so don't expect the darkest dark. But for LCD, it's not bad at all.

I can't choose a S6 lite for this deal. It only allows me to select "other tablet".

in the same boat but per this https://nanoreview.net/en/tablet-....1-and-r.2 I am definitely not upgrading. Not spending $100 for 2 additional years of Android updates, and very marginal spec improvements, albeit smaller screen and smaller battery, which are actually important to me.
