I keep hearing about wyze issues, but I have 6 wyze cameras for almost 3 years now and the only issue I have experienced is from my own negligence. I put a camera on the ground and didn't put the silicone sleeve over the micro usb connection and it corroded over the 4 months that I had it there. I put a micro SD card in all of them, and have a decent router, but seriously zero issues...

It's Wyze...anyone who deals with them knows just how unpredictable they are.

The reason people are switching away from Wyze is their continued removal of options. They removed support for rtsp, they've clamped down on api usage for external apps in order to push their subscription model. So home networkers/homelabs have started moving to other options. I have a mix of wyze products I'll be replacing myself over the next year. Great quality, but if I can't use it the way I want to, why keep em?

I have had an assortment of their cameras for years. For the price I think they are very acceptable. I still stick to primarily the Cam Lite compatible stuff but the $6 TikTok deal got me to buy a v3 Pan Cam. Everything has worked pretty solid. The only camera that developed issues had sun glare through my tiny garage windows and damage the image sensor. First gen camera. Its been a cheap solution. Just got one of their scales and its nice how it reports all the data to my fitness apps to track for my doctor. That Wyze S scale was like $15 delivered.

I am considering these wireless cameras to round out my security. I have a first gen wireless camera with the hub and it works great considering how far it is from the hub and modem/router cube.

The guys here talking as if Wyze cams are some kind of cheap junk... I do not agree with them at all. I own many, many cameras and have since 2014. Wyze cams are very well made and well supported. Their only weakness was flimsy security back in the v1 days, but they have rectified that in recent years.

Their SD card supporting cameras are THE best and cheapest way to get round the clock video monitoring. I have directly contributed to solving local PD cases four times since 2016 with these cams.

These are not SD cameras. Instead, they offer:
2.5K HDR Video Resolution
Wire-Free, No Hub required
Integrated Spotlight & Siren
Radar + PIR Motion Detection
Removable, Rechargeable Battery Packs
IP65 Weatherproof
2.4 & 5Ghz WiFi Support

They are also solar compatible. Basically these are ring spotlight replacements. They are superior to ring because 1) 1/4 the price each 2) 2k resolution vs 1080p 3) much cheaper service plan 4) dual band freeing up 2.4ghz 5) night vision is far superior to ring

Ironically, this might actually be the best product that Wyze has ever slapped their name on--except possible their first v1/v2 cams. I have two of these, which I bought last year from HD on a similar deal, and they are solid. I have the solar panels connected and I they charge themselves. WiFi connection is decent--rarely have issues. As I can recall, I've only had to reset one of the cameras once in the last year.

Roku basically sells their products under their name at Walmarts so I doubt it.
Technically, Roku slaps their name on the dame product that Wyze slaps their name on. Wyze doesn't make them.

Own two of these. Both mounted outside running on solar panels. Solar panel easily keeps this charged up and I have never had to take the cameras down. Using Microcenter SD cards from Amazon.

Only had an issue with one of them needing a restart to start charging from solar again. Beyond that, no other issues. One has been outside for over a year watching a bird feeder.

I have two dwellings I use these cameras to check in on, 6 cameras, they work just fine I just never update when prompted lol. The ones I have do have a customizable detection area to not make my tree set it off if I have motion detection. Idk I like em for what they are and how cheap they are. I had a ring camera for my Upnorth property and if the power flickered I lost connection because it called for WiFi faster than my modem rebooted then you couldn't connect again without physically pressing a button on top of the camera (hard to do 300 miles away) so the camera stayed out until I could get to it. Wyze no problems with multiple power flickers over the year having a place 1/2 miles back in woods cameras reboot just fine every time

I have 5 cams and a doorbell. Except doorbell which I only dislike because of how it notifies me, I have no other issues.
Up front cost - cheapest
App - far better than many other Camera app
Subscriptions - not needed if you can get few memory cards and don't want face detection etc. Camera Video Feed - almost instant, most of the time. When it's bit slow, I blame my internet speed.
One camera we rely to monitor my kid, so far so great๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‘

I have/had Ring Stick Up, Nest Door Bell, Lorex 4K with 1TB NVR. Ring and Nest - not worth given the cost vs performanc. Lorex is nice but higher upfront cost.

I want to try Eufy because of how they integrate with their smart outdoor lights but maybe I should give these two a try ๐Ÿ‘

I have 49 WYZE cams currently active. I've had some fail over the years. If its before the warranty expires they replace them. Overall I love them.

Thanks OP! Been wanting one of these. Have several other Wyze cams for a couple years and they've been great. The only issue I had was with a refurbished pan cam losing power. I opened it up and reseated the cables and that fixed it.

I haven't had too many issues with Wyze products, and I've used several of their cameras/locks/lights for years now.

I have multiple Wyze products that work well but these specific cameras are terrible. At least, without subscription.

The playback interface is VERY cumbersome compared to the indoor cameras. Many recorded videos won't show on the app and the cameras won't record longer than 12 seconds.
The only reliable way to see the videos is to take the SD card out and access it with a phone or a PC.
I've returned mine.

Does someone on here actually own these cameras and is happy with them?

I have 5 of these running, great cameras. I also have 12 other wyze cameras running perfectly for years. I use the wyze watch, scale, home alarm, sensors, plugs and bulbs without issue.

The majority of problems are the user not knowing how to use the product.
