I have these , they are garbage. No dim control and they are super bright. The music effects are super lame so I just use them on the solid color setting.

Fwiw I've got a pair of these. The brightness control does work through the govee app, haven't tried via other means.
Overall at this price I like them but not for the full price. 40-45 is pretty common for this set on Amazon, often with a coupon.
These are pretty cool to use in conjunction with a dreamview setup. That's govees camera setup that watches your TV and mimics the lights to the colors on the screen.
One super annoying part of that setup though is the 2 light bars aren't independent of each other. So for the full effect you'd want 2 sets with each set on separate sides of the tv. I learned that the hard way after they were mounted.

Thank you, most of the govee reviews are biased and it's hard to know if it is decent or bad

The video reviews show people adjusting the brightness using the Govee app. Does that not work?

Did you use their app? You may need the app for brightness adjustment.

Anyone know if these would be good for behind the RX accent lighting? (I.e. indirect lighting facing the wall but matching the TV images).

This is what I want to know as well. All lights work through the app so why wouldn't this be dimmable??

Wrong, you can adjust brightness. They works similar to other Govee products. However, they aren't as great as other Govee products especially because of limited flexibility for installation.

Don't go by incorrect information provided here from not fully exploring the options available. You need to install Govee App to utilize full features offered by their products. These are good to try and decide you like it or not. I have multiple of these on different use and they do very well.

Yes you can. Once you setup your room or whatever its called in the app, it gives you an image of a generic room and you select in the image where the lights are in relation to the tv.
