Now it would be interesting to see if the series X digital edition would drop to $399 or less, with or without store gift card, while the Series X disc edition stays at $499.99. This scenario is rather realistic unfortunately.

The repeat of the $350 series x deal for this holiday is very unlikely IMO thanks to $449 digital Series X now being a thing. It didn't exist last year and the console sale was less worse. Now it is and MS can't undercut digital Series X and S either.
It's tied to the console so you'll get a digital copy after logging into XBL on the console.

you've seen the PS5 Pro nonsense, yeah..?
*No console exclusive games. Games are available on PC and slowly becoming available on PS5.
*Multiplatform games typically do not perform as well as PS5 counterparts
*Outdated controllers
*Gamepass being the sole reason for this system to exist but once you let your Sub expire, what does that really leave you, a bare empty system ready to be traded in to get a PS5 Pro which is superior in every way.
*Stopped development on backwards compatibility.
Only fail safe on electronics is to buy extended warranty. Sometimes you just get a lemon 🤷.
