I think the reason youre getting thumbs down is because every lock can be broken. Some more than others. Is there a severe security flaw with this one - or does it just have a typical level of security?

This is a good price on a great lock. I have used this exact lock on my commuter bike for 5+ years regularly parking around DC proper with 0 issues. It's big enough where I can lock the frame and one wheel to the rack. I do not leave my bike outside overnight however.

Kryptonite makes good products. I upgraded to the 4x9" lock after a 7" mini-u Kryptonite prevented an angle grinder theft attempt overnight. The same 7" lock prevented a pick theft attempt a few months prior to that.

They can all be broken one way or another. This is a compromise lock. Kept my bike secured for years in a medium sized city without adding too much weight to my ride. In a large city with more sophisticated bike thieves, I would upsize to a beefier version. Nothing will keep your bike safe if you regularly leave it overnight in public.

Damn. Literally ordered this earlier this week @ $60. Guess I'll do a buy & return.

Got it for my e-scooter. Typical Kryptonite quality. Pretty robust.

Agree with others that sophisticated thieves will easily get through this one. I feel comfortable with it riding around my safe, suburban area and locking it up while I go to library or gym. I wouldn't trust this lock overnight in a big city, however.
