I've had two of these for 2-3 years now and they've been great.

They have 3 speeds and automatic mode that will adjust the speed based on the air quality. I just keep mine running 24/7 in automatic mode.

These run silently at the lowest speed, where it spends 95% of the time in automatic mode. They do become quite a bit louder at higher speeds, but in my case they mostly ramp up for a few minutes when I'm cooking (or rather burning) something.

As for the filters, they work quite well based on the amount of dust that accumulates on them. Carbon filters tend to get clogged up first, since they are the first line of defence. I bought a generic "fil-fresh" set of filters online, and they look and fit identical to the OEM filters.

I hope this helps those of you on the fence.
The OEM ones are also on sale. Otherwise, the cabiclean ones on Amazon were apparently tested by wire cutter

Perfect timing since my Winix just crapped out on me and is making an annoying whining noise now. Thanks OP.

Same here with my Winix. Started out well but didn't last.
I also have a Blueair and Coway currently and prefer the Coway for the larger air intake.

What filters are people buying for these? I can't find a clear answer for good budget filter options.

I went through so many reviews for the cabiclean when i was buying filters for it. A lot of the complaints were of quality change and strange odors. They could have fixed it by now. So ymmv.

I ended up buying a different brand made in Taiwan.

The other aftermarket brand they recommend is Durabasics:

I have a Levoit LV-PUR131S and would have the same comments on it as mihanich
Look for a quiet unit with an automatic mode.

Been using Coway for years, love them! Have the 400 which works awesome. May have to try this 200 for a smaller area at this price!

Have been using the black one for years, and it's great. I leave it permanently on speed 1, which is near-silent. It collects a lot of dust and seems to always detect if the windows or open or we're cooking (color LED changes) so I assume it's working to clear that too. Very useful when doing some drywall work/sanding to clear up the air. It is so ugly though, and the cat/toddler often hit the button to change the speed or knock it over. I'm considering replacing with a Bluair equivalent model.

I have two of these and two Winix. I prefer the Winix because they have four fan speed settings. The coways go from silent, to quiet, to very loud. Wish there was a setting between quiet and loud on them.
