CVS Info:

First of all, you will need a CVS ExtraCare card. This is obtained easily at any store at the register. Some will ask you to fill out the form then and there, others will just give you the card and ask you to return the form later.

Once you have the card, you can now start CVSing

The biggest thing to understand is that CVS uses a promotional program called ExtraCare Bucks (commonly abbreviated as ECBs.) These print out on your receipt immediately once you purchase an item offering them; almost like an instant-rebate you get at the register. You can turn around and use them anytime on almost anything in the store, except for alcohol, cigarettes, and gift cards.

Often, CVS advertises items as Free after ECB For example, throughout the month of November, CVS has Crest Pro Health Whitening Toothpaste in 4.2 oz size, for free after ECB. The cost is $3.49, but you get $3.49 back instantly on your receipt. The best part is that there are often coupons available that can actually help you earn money like for the above toothpaste, there are $1 off coupons available, meaning the item would be $2.49, but you get $3.49 in ECBs back. The limit on this toothpaste for this month is 2. So if you wanted to start off small to get into CVSing, the thing to do would be to buy one toothpaste in the first transaction (and use a coupon if you have one, so that you either pay $3.49 or $2.49 in cash), then use the $3.49 ECBs you get back from that first transaction to pay for the second tube of toothpaste, and again, receive $3.49 more in ECBs.

The trick now is to roll your ECBs so that you rarely pay more than maybe a dollar or two in tax on transactions, instead using your ECBs from previous transactions then earning more to keep doing the same. Its a cycle (and a game/addiction to some, lol.)

Not watching instantly - I've got disc 1 & 2. I wish it was on demand. I have to start over today with them since DH slept through it all last night. Yay! laugh out loud

I'm an 8 1/2 - pretty sure bunches of us are here. Smilie I'm going to get my sea legs. I know it! I'm only wearing them for half the day today. I can sure feel it in my butt. Rock

Cloud9 I think BT understands his role in yesterday's chaos. Today was bliss. Smilie He was awesome getting up, dressed, fed and out the door. He even had time to play and didn't throw a fit when it was time to go. I am so glad I went to his school to apologize yesterday for MY behavior. I think it really helped him understand that we all make mistakes and we can choose to behave better than that and everyone is happier. We'll see how long it lasts. laugh out loud
I watched all the clips they had on YouTube last night Roll Just what I needed before bed. Though, I did have dreams about Brett Farve Confused Wonder if he has a man cold and I was channeling him? Roll

This one class is KILLING me. We have a paper due (on average) every four days. We had to post each paper to WebCT as well as submit it to the prof. Additionally, we're required to respond to a minimum of three students papers and make comments (of no less than 250 words per comment.) We also have no less than a chapter a week to read. There is a shitload of group work in this class, too. WTF?!?! I understand this is a 500 level grad class but damn, we all have jobs and families on top of going to school. If he's going to assign this much work than he needs to have open submit dates. I don't know how people do it that have to go into an office for their job. At least I can work from home at all hours of the day and night. I'm thankful that my other class has more flexible due dates (still a lot of work but at least the due dates are more flexible.)

As if I don't have enough to do today. J's school just called and the charter school makes the high schoolers do community service every Wednesday afternoon. The coordinator for that called in sick today, which means that J can't sit down with her and plan out where he will do his weekly community service. They called to let me know he would be excused at 12:10 today. I have to pick him up and bring him to get his allergy shot. But damn, it is COLD here today. This school has a catered lunch every day by a local restaurant. The lady that called me told me J ordered lunch already so if I wanted, I could wait and pick him up at 12:30 to give him time to eat Roll

It's a half day here. That's so stupid. In fact..Robert said that he heard on the radio that they are taking back them being off on President's Day because of the snow days we missed...but we can have a half day today? AND they are calling for snow again Thur night/Friday. I have to go to the store tomorrow, NOT because of snow, and it will be a madhouse. Frown

Wave good morning..

Tired, but doggie ate last night and today seems well. He's obviously a little sore. Gave him his pain meds this am and soft food and now he's sleeping nice and sound..Smilie So glad the hard part's over. The tech said he was amazing. I guess older dogs and puppies usually need something to bring their blood pressure up while under anesthesia, he didn't even need it. They were shocked how well he did through the whole thing because of his age and underlying kidney issues. My baby's a fighter..heart

So now I can finally get some rest..Whee

Hope you all have a great day, I'm going to nap and then maybe call the realtor to go look at some houses this weekend. There's an awesome foreclosure showing sunday and the house looks really good, for the price we have like 50k leway to fix things and make it our own..Dontknow Could be a possibility.Smilie

My kids seem to have an awful lot of half days, too. And, we're only in January and they've used up all of their snow days already for the winter! Anything from now until a certain date in April has to be made up at the end of the year. They won't be canceling school unless absolutely necessary now.

Gosh, I really love this school J is in. Every day they update his grades and also with his behavior points per class. So, not only do I know his grades at any moment, I know what kind of conduct he had for the day. Plus, I really like the community service thing. It gives the kids some experience and also gives back to the community. He can't wait for his senior year. He gets to pick a field placement course on the college campus. He has already decided to take the welding. After the school year he will have 12 college credits and be half way done with the college welding program Smilie

To be fair, it was 7:10 here, although I had been up for 30 mins by the time I posted that. laugh out loud I had to leave the house early to hit walmart before heading to the radio station to talk to my former boss about work. And they did re-hire me....but it's a strictly Part time deal right now. We'll see how long that lasts. laugh out loud

Well, honestly, I think once they get me back in the building, they'll be coming to me for a bunch of additional stuff. Just have to wait and see.

Great news, zmarko! High Five

RRG - that school sounds amazing. Catered lunches? Wowser! Love the volunteer stuff, too. That's very cool. And going into college with 12 credits is great!

BG - glad your pup is doing so well! hug He's a tough guy.

DH & I had lunch with BT this morning, then I taught Jr Achievement. Now I'm home cramming lunch and getting ready to take LT back up to the school for a speech screening. Whee

I need more motivation. I'm skipping napping today because my sleep schedule is all farked up again ( I was up until almost 3 last night). I'm attempting to be tired enough to get to sleep at a decent hour tonight.

To make matters worse T is in a funk and has done absolutely nothing around the house as of late. So far today I've emptied and refilled the dishwasher, washed my work clothes and the bathroom and kitchen rugs, cleaned the fridge (EEK! science experiment found), took out the trash and tidied up the litterbox. I still need to vacuum Annoyed I asked him to do it 4 days ago but so far he's "too busy."

Roll I see I'm not the only one to slip and use real names :p

The catered lunches aren't super fancy but hey, it is better than the school lunches he was used to. He seems to have adjusted so much better than I thought he would to the switch. He loves the new school.

He is super excited to be able to do the field training thing. They have a bunch of options to choose from (as far as what class they want to take.) He is so set on welding.
