CVS Info:

First of all, you will need a CVS ExtraCare card. This is obtained easily at any store at the register. Some will ask you to fill out the form then and there, others will just give you the card and ask you to return the form later.

Once you have the card, you can now start CVSing

The biggest thing to understand is that CVS uses a promotional program called ExtraCare Bucks (commonly abbreviated as ECBs.) These print out on your receipt immediately once you purchase an item offering them; almost like an instant-rebate you get at the register. You can turn around and use them anytime on almost anything in the store, except for alcohol, cigarettes, and gift cards.

Often, CVS advertises items as Free after ECB For example, throughout the month of November, CVS has Crest Pro Health Whitening Toothpaste in 4.2 oz size, for free after ECB. The cost is $3.49, but you get $3.49 back instantly on your receipt. The best part is that there are often coupons available that can actually help you earn money like for the above toothpaste, there are $1 off coupons available, meaning the item would be $2.49, but you get $3.49 in ECBs back. The limit on this toothpaste for this month is 2. So if you wanted to start off small to get into CVSing, the thing to do would be to buy one toothpaste in the first transaction (and use a coupon if you have one, so that you either pay $3.49 or $2.49 in cash), then use the $3.49 ECBs you get back from that first transaction to pay for the second tube of toothpaste, and again, receive $3.49 more in ECBs.

The trick now is to roll your ECBs so that you rarely pay more than maybe a dollar or two in tax on transactions, instead using your ECBs from previous transactions then earning more to keep doing the same. Its a cycle (and a game/addiction to some, lol.)

THANK YOU. I felt like replying, "God is always invited in my home." or something slightly more snarky, but I thought that might not go over well.
Yeah seriously...I would have wanted to say something too. I thought it was kinda wrong he was trying to get you guys (church members) to go to church regardless of driving conditions. All he needed to say is "Church will be open tomorrow." Done.

And give me a break. He didn't have new people calling to make sure there was church tomorrow..it was a guilt tactic.

That's the thing..he wants to do all of these things...he schedules church stuff all of the time. He says keeping people busy keeps them focused. I don't need him to babysit my relationship with God. Really. And then Robert's all "Ohhh...we should do this!" and I'm all Nono. Like now, we are on a THREE WEEK special "fast" (we eat, we are just fasting from certain foods) that I really didn't want to do, but I was guilted into by him and my husband because "it makes a better relationship with God". And Robert is all "sometimes you have to do what your pastor says." Mad
I COULD have said, "Don't worry, you'll get your check." but that would be rude. Robert says I have an attitude problem. laugh out loud

Definitely agree, the pastor was trying to guilt you all into attending.

WTF? Some three week fast? What is ungodly to eat? laugh out loud And fark that...when Robert goes to work I'd be eating whatever it was just to spite him and then high fiving God laugh out loud Then I'd start wearing a sheep costume or shirt to church every week.

You know me, I've got nothing against church. But it seems like yours is kinda..well..you know, lol.

No, it is biblical to pray and fast (if so led) but I don't feel it should be a corporate body thing. It should be a personal thing..does that make sense? Anyway, you can fast from whatever you want when you do. We aren't having any baked goods (other than wheat bread), sugar (other than what is in canned vegetables, etc already), meat, wine (that's just me Frown Robert doesn't drink), caffiene, stuff like that. We have one week left. If I cheated, since I agreed to do it, I'd kind of feel like I was lying to God, and I don't want to do that. I have never fasted before for biblical purposes. From what I read, it is for SERIOUS prayer, not just prayer...if that makes sense. I pray all of the time. I just don't feel like I need anyone's interference with it. My relationship with God should be between me and Him.

Here's the thing...I am very much a Christian. I totally believe in God and I believe in doing your best to maintain that relationship. BUT...I grew up totally different than Robert sometimes I feel like he is just TOO over the top. It has gotten to where it all rubs me the wrong way. (Church in general, not God) but I know God wants you to attend church, so I am struggling with that. It's not God's fault I have gotten to this point. It's mine and the postitions I have been the past few years. I am struggling. I am tired of others making me feel like it's not good enough.

Well, it's like this...I feel God wants us to go to church...but if you don't, to ME, you just don't. It's not really my place to tell you to or not to. Would I be happy if everyone I knew went to church? Or was even a Christian? Absolutely. Would I not like you if you didn't go to church or weren't a Christian? Absolutely not. If I like you, I like you. Absolutely I want for you what I feel is best, but if that's not who you are or what you're interested in...that's fine. It will not change how I feel about you.

I really get that some people don't feel the same way as me. I personally have seen too much to ever make me not believe in God. I believe in Him, and I believe in His awesomeness. Sometimes, I am downright amazed by it. No one is going to change my mind and my heart. But I am certainly not going to force anything on anyone. If someone wanted to know something about my experiences, I would be thrilled to tell them, but I am not about making anyone listen.

I believe in God. I just don't like church. It started when I was 10....these woman would make snark remarks about how "ratty" my clothes was, behind my parents back. I finally told my parents and sure enough they was talking about me and some of the other kids. After that I just felt like it was more of a social gathering than anything else. I mean no offense to anybody. I really should go back to church, but I'm just gun shy (for a lack of a better term.)

It might take a bit to find the one right for you. Don't worry so much about the people. Worry about how it makes YOU feel to be there..the preaching, the feeling of God, etc. My BIL won't go back to the church we grew up in. (not him..my sister and I) See, at my church, you can wear what you want. That's one thing I like...the PEOPLE there, they don't seem to judge you. But at my childhood church, my sister and BIL were going to go a few weeksw ago. BIL told my sister he was still mostly packed, so he didn't have anything to wear but jeans. My sister told him it wouldn't matter, and if it made him feel better, she would wear jeans too. Well, at church, my niece started acting up, so my sister got up to take her to the nursery. As soon as she walked out, the pastor (whom we have known for years and years) made a comment, "When I was a kid, you just didn't wear jeans to church.) Made my BIL so mad, he won't go back. Really ticked my sister off, too. God doesn't really care what you wear. You're not there for other people. You're there for Him and you.

We don't have many baptist churches around here. I might check out Nashville and see about them.
