Our family absolutely LOVED season one and two and couldn't stop raving about it to friends and family. The portrayal of Jesus is powerful and captivating... several scenes brought tears to our eyes seeing our Savior come to life on the screen. However, we began noticing they were taking creative liberties that were not biblically sound. We dismissed it first but things started going off the rails a little too much in season 3 so we decided to stopped watching. We understand this is only "based on the New Testament" and not a cliff notes version of the Gospel. Outside of our wish they would have kept it Biblically consistent, they did a phenomenal job on this series. Like many of these mini series shows, they start adding "poop in the brownies" (as I call it) once they get you invested. Just something to be aware of going in.

Because making a series costs money. This series is ONLY funded by donations and purchases. There is no big-money support or backing.

Definitely one of the best "Bible without all that pesky reading" choices

They took some artistic liberties with some of the stories (just a warning to some of the purists...it's not as far as the Noah movie, though), but acting and production values are excellent.

What is the actual deal here! Is it the The Chosen series specifically? Is it the bundling of Season 1 with it?
Or is the whole Fanflix link the deal and The Chosen is just an example?

I get that some people would rather "own" (license) the show or otherwise financially support it, but this is available to stream for free online.

Lol. I'm definitely stealing the phrase "adding poop in the brownies". (Thanks for the review, too!)

I agree. It's literally just the listed prices. $14.99 + 4.99 + 3.99 = $23.98. Oh wait! You save one cent!

Well, hehe, you don't even save $0.01...your math is wrong Smilie
But the more I look at it, I think the deal is just that some of the prices are good, but you have to buy 3 to "unlock" the prices. And the OP used The Chosen as basically and example deal.

You need to purchase at least 3 items from fanflix (can't just buy 1 or 2) so this slickdeals post is merely showing how you can get the series + the related movie. Because those only add up to 2 items you must add a 3rd.

I love the series, i know what they mean when they say the "liberties"... but FOR ME... it does not make me want to stop watching but to read the BIBLE more ( almost looking to see would Jesus say it like that - in a light funny manner... LIKE IN THIS SCENE - Jesus and the disciples are about to celebrate maybe dance.. and Jesus makes a joke that him and peter better get in there -that Thomas or Matthew may "have 2 left feet", and then they laugh a bit and go to join the fun - ... not in the Bible... BUT, I think Jesus would have some fun with His close friends... so maybe things like that are what some may mean... anyway -it makes me want to dig into my FAITH more...
