Our family absolutely LOVED season one and two and couldn't stop raving about it to friends and family. The portrayal of Jesus is powerful and captivating... several scenes brought tears to our eyes seeing our Savior come to life on the screen. However, we began noticing they were taking creative liberties that were not biblically sound. We dismissed it first but things started going off the rails a little too much in season 3 so we decided to stopped watching. We understand this is only "based on the New Testament" and not a cliff notes version of the Gospel. Outside of our wish they would have kept it Biblically consistent, they did a phenomenal job on this series. Like many of these mini series shows, they start adding "poop in the brownies" (as I call it) once they get you invested. Just something to be aware of going in.

Because making a series costs money. This series is ONLY funded by donations and purchases. There is no big-money support or backing.

Definitely one of the best "Bible without all that pesky reading" choices

They took some artistic liberties with some of the stories (just a warning to some of the purists...it's not as far as the Noah movie, though), but acting and production values are excellent.

Why isn't this free?
It is free in the app on ROKU, just look up the CHOSEN app. I collect digital movies so this would be good for me to have - plus my fam loves the series.

I get that some people would rather "own" (license) the show or otherwise financially support it, but this is available to stream for free online.

What is the actual deal here! Is it the The Chosen series specifically? Is it the bundling of Season 1 with it?Or is the whole Fanflix link the deal and The Chosen is just an example?
It's a crossover between the Chosen and the Punisher

You can also use The Chosen app on various devices: https://www.thechosen.tv/en-us

I'm not sure if it's ad-free in The Chosen app but maybe?

You get the series for $15 but you have to add 2 other movies is what they're saying.

I think the producer NEVER said this series is a bible or scripture replacement, in fact I do believe I recall them saying it doesn't replace actual Bible reading. It's an entertainment series where the create could take some liberties... but it's still better than most other stuff on TV. I don't know why people expect this to be 99% exactly like the Bible. I'm watching it with some understanding that it's 85-90% sourced from the Bible/Scriptures. and like some other people said, it's a stepping block to actually go read the Bible.

Don't get left behind. For those with faith, it is a good reminder. For those that don't have faith, maybe some opportunity here.

I love the series, i know what they mean when they say the "liberties"... but FOR ME... it does not make me want to stop watching but to read the BIBLE more ( almost looking to see would Jesus say it like that - in a light funny manner... LIKE IN THIS SCENE - Jesus and the disciples are about to celebrate maybe dance.. and Jesus makes a joke that him and peter better get in there -that Thomas or Matthew may "have 2 left feet", and then they laugh a bit and go to join the fun - ... not in the Bible... BUT, I think Jesus would have some fun with His close friends... so maybe things like that are what some may mean... anyway -it makes me want to dig into my FAITH more...
FWIW, I've taken an interest in Near Death Experiences which of course requires you to believe the people telling them whom you don't know. When many hundreds of NDEs over centuries (including Swedenborg in the 1700's) and different countries and religions have several things in common, it gives some weight to those. I have read some NDEs from those who talked to Jesus, basically during their life review and whether they should return to earth, indicated He in fact has a good sense of humor and it's not un-Godly to make clean jokes.

If you're referring to "the rapture" I'll admit I've never understood what it was or how it was supposed work. I just remember all the piles of clothes left behind in the Nic Cage movie.

I really enjoy this series. Family friendly, well made, and thought-provoking. Yes, they take a lot of liberties with the Biblical text, but that's kind of the point of the show - to bring these people that are in the Bible into the "real world." That said, in my opinion, it's generally faithful to the source material.

Yes, it's free. If you don't want to "own" it, go watch it on the Chosen app, I think Angel Studios app also has it, as well as BYUTV. I liked this show so much, after streaming it for free, I bought the blu rays to support the independent studio.

Thanks - I grabbed this and added the Johnny Cash movie / documentary.

I always wanted to watch the Chosen - but don't really know where to find it or if I have all the recordings on my youtubeTV etc..

This way I can support the creators and get them commercial free.
