Seriously, what's the purpose for installing a smart door bell?
Camera purposes?

I would avoid buying these. I have the wired one and constantly get "offline" messages all the time. Look it up big problem with them.

I have had the battery model for a few years, no such issues. It's been great!

When I'm at work and I get a notification, sometimes it's my wife watering the plants. I hop on and we use it as a speakerphone/one way video chat. Highly recommended.

Seeing who is at your door? Communicating with a visitor when you aren't at home? Seeing who's neighbors cat is sleeping on your porch leaving dead mice in the middle of the night?

What's the usual wait time when checking the app to view the live camera? I have the Arlo and it takes up to 30+ second to connect, frustratingly.

Have the battery model, idk it might be 1st gen, it's good. The disconnect might be if it's having trouble with the wifi signal. Anyway it works fine, but sometimes I'll get deer walk by and it doesn't detect. Didn't detect the fox either. It's hit or miss with that stuff. Usually it gets them but not always, not sure if every camera is like that or just this one

Idk, pretty much on when you go into the app. Maybe a few seconds

I came from Arlo to Nest as well. I'm sure everyone has varied experiences but it's been a great change. Faster response times, clear video, and accurate notifications. I do subscribe to Nest Aware but it's still cheaper than what I was paying for Arlo.

Have I had a couple "offline" issues? Yes but it's only been a couple times and resolved fairly quickly. I had WAY more connection issues and errors with Arlo.

If you want a wired one, this one is very good. 24/7 recording, no subs, 2K res, etc. I replaced my Ring, and so I glad did.

Only issue is that it is much easier to remove from the wall than Ring.
