the OP forgot one extremely important detail about this deal - it is only available for people who have a Walmart+ paid subscription on November 11th at 12pm EST (noon) and that's because it's a W+ Early Access deal. everyone else who doesn't have a subscription will be able to buy it 5 hours later at 5:00 p.m. EST. and I'm sure by then it will be sold out."Walmart+ Early Access deals begin online Monday, Nov. 11 at 12 p.m. ET exclusively for paid Walmart+ members, 5 p.m. ET for all customers and starts in stores Friday, Nov. 15 at 6 a.m. local time."
I bought online last night at $138 and am not Walmart +

My TV was just delivered. I was shocked to see that the TV is actually made in Mexico. Walmart's website did not say anything about the country of origin but if anyone's wondering it's 100% made in Mexico and the sticker on the outside of the box that says made in Mexico even has the exact serial number of the TV, model number and all affiliated UPC barcodes on it. I had absolutely no idea that they make TVs in Mexico and I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing. the box is also quite small and quite light and the guy delivered it delivered it in a four-cylinder hatchback with no problem. I watched him take it out the back and there was no problem at all with it fitting. when I took the box to bring it inside, I kept saying to myself it's amazing how they've optimized the size and weight of these things because it was like handling a box of detergent or something like that... so easy.
China is building thousands of factories in Mexico to avoid targeted tariffs and increase influence.

Possibly true, I paid a little more for the pro and it works awesomely, very zippy. I guess we will never have a normal android tv without the bloatware.
I'm having issues with remote. Very irresponsive. May need to uninstall TV quickactions button remapper

I was able to place an order but then Walmart immediately cancelled saying the hold could stick around for several days. Frustrating. They need to get their inv system working.

The point of the tariffs are to bring manufacturing back to the United States and have U.S. companies make the items Americans need and also export them for profit. If they are not in the United States, then they will still have to pay. For example, it was a U.S. citizen that invented the first electric television. We had several U.S. companies making parts and assembling televisions. I don't believe a single TV brand is manufactured 100% in the U.S. anymore. Hopefully this gets some companies to produce American products that haven't been manufactured here in decades again.
Sorry, but that's not how things work any more. Even if they started assembling the TVs here, all the components (with the possible exception of the cabinet) will come from overseas. We don't have the capability to manufacture LCD panels here, and it would take years to start up. And this completely begs the question of how much prices would increase if manufacturing moved here. The whole reason that manufacturing moved to Japan, then Korea, then China, was that consumers weren't willing to pay a premium to buy something manufactured here vs manufactured elsewhere. The cows have escaped the barn; it's too late to close the doors.

So I posted this deal on 11/7. 4 days before it went live. So 11/18 deals should be released 11/14 if assuming same pattern, 4 days before

Companies are not in the business of setting up factories in the US for free. Those costs are passed on to the customers. Training workers, building new supply chain, inventory and warehouse, logistics, higher wages, health insurance… everything is passed on to the customer.

You do realize all of the components required to put together a television are still being manufactured in the United States, correct? We have companies that assemble televisions with parts from other countries right now. Planar and several other companies manufacture LED panels here, we have microchip companies here, and we have PCB manufacturers here. We just need an American television company to emerge and design a television using all parts manufactured here. It is nowhere as difficult or expensive as you are making it out to be.

If the quality is comparable or better, an extra $50 to $100 to purchase an American made television isn't that big of a deal. I would pay that just so I don't have to deal with foreign customer service. And as I stated in my previous post, we already have companies producing the parts needed here. So most of the factories exist currently. We just need an American company to step up to design, and put them together. As time passes the manufacturing costs would go down as well.

You're dreaming. Almost all American companies use foreign customer service.

And then they get mad when their jobs go somewhere else and virtue signal about not being Made in america lmao

This is sooooo sad but so true! All of them do this with only very few exceptions!
