Yeah, this will run Fortnite pretty well. The video card is pretty similar to a GTX 1660 Ti, but with some fancy new feature. Pretty amazing for a $500 laptop if you you ask me. Not going to run all AAA games at this point though.
come on. this will run everything, just not 4k 144hz ray tracing.

Looks like it'll run anything at about 1080p 60fps, which is awesome for a $500 laptop.

I was able to successfully install 32 gb kit and a 2 tb hard drive on this. Looks like I'm good to go. Someone said ddr5 should work but I installed the ddr4 3200 with no issues.
The CPU is compatible with either DDR4 or DDR5, but I believe the SODIMM slots are not the same, hence DDR5 would not even plug in.

Link to the kit and hard drive you purchased? All plug and play? If not, what else needs to be done?

Where's the negative reviews? Only 1 about the screen.

The screen is 7/10. The rest of the laptop is perfect. Backlit keyboard. Cooling works great and not super loud. Runs Fortnite at max settings + epic ray tracing at 1080p at around 60fps with some drops. Without ray tracing more like 100-120fps with minimal drops.

Planning to upgrade to 2x16 GB and see if the performance improves. Had mine up and running for about 3 hours and so far I think well worth $500. No USB-C charging is a big bummer

You're right, I'm just waiting for more experiences since no reviews and not much info from hp either... I'll prolly keep it, upgrade the space and memory

Just got it today. Everything seems good except for the screen…I have a slight yellow tint like a previous commenter.

I've been able to minimize it using "Display Color Calibration" in Windows settings, reduce the amount of green when you get to that section.

The yellow tint is common for low quality screens so depending on your previous monitors, it might not bother you. I'm going to keep this laptop anyway because I highly doubt a RTX 4050 can be found at a lower price this season.

Upgrades are easy, it has two NVMe SSD slots, two DDR4 RAM slots, and a Wi-Fi card. And yes, they should just be "plug and play".

"Getting into the HP Victus 16 is very easy. All one needs is a Philips head screwdriver, undo eight screws at the back and pry open the cover plate. The WLAN card, DDR5 RAM, and the NVMe SSD can all be replaced. The battery can be unscrewed and replaced if necessary."

If you are thinking about upgrading to a bigger SSD, keep in mind that the installed one reads at about 4500. I tested it with the Crystal disk mark. I had planned on putting in my 1tb Lexmark SSD which has top speeds of 3300. Not sure how much that would slow it down for gaming. My previous HP gaming laptop at least had an extra 2.5 sata slot in it. 512gb isn't large enough for a gaming laptop.

It's 1080p, yes it will run all AAA games. You will have to turn settings to medium though.

I have brought several laptops at the 400- 450 price point, this one is about the same as they have been when you find good deals, expect you have a 144hz screen which in nice. I would say this is a good deal for good specs, I am not sure if Intel is having issues with their laptop CPU's like their desktop's, you should look into that and if they are good then keep it. If they also degrade, return it.
