If you are thinking about upgrading to a bigger SSD, keep in mind that the installed one reads at about 4500. I tested it with the Crystal disk mark. I had planned on putting in my 1tb Lexmark SSD which has top speeds of 3300. Not sure how much that would slow it down for gaming. My previous HP gaming laptop at least had an extra 2.5 sata slot in it. 512gb isn't large enough for a gaming laptop.
This laptop has a second NVMe slot, so you can add a second SSD without removing the original one.

Edit: I was mistaken, there's only one.

Do you actually have it? Ive seen pics that it has space for it but it doesn't have the connectors for it.

Where did you learn about a 2nd NVMe slot? Someone opened the laptop they received and photographed the insides (look at earlier posts), but their motherboard has only one NVMe slot. But I wonder, are there multiple variants floating around? Or is the source of info on the 2nd NVMe mistaken, because all versions have only one NVMe slot?

Correct. Received mine and opened it up. Only one NVMe slot.

Upgrades are easy, it has two NVMe SSD slots, two DDR4 RAM slots, and a Wi-Fi card. And yes, they should just be "plug and play"."Getting into the HP Victus 16 is very easy. All one needs is a Philips head screwdriver, undo eight screws at the back and pry open the cover plate. The WLAN card, DDR5 RAM, and the NVMe SSD can all be replaced. The battery can be unscrewed and replaced if necessary."https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-Victus-16-Laptop-Review-A-1080p-gaming-powerhouse-with-few-compromises.748144.0.html
This only has one NVME slot. Ram is 8gb X 2 dual channel config. Can confirm I replaced an 8gb with a 16gb stick for 24 total, so no 16gb total limit. Screen color is fine for this price point IMO. Fan noise was a little annoying high pitch in quiet room and no USB-C 100W PD charging but again...price is on point.
Rocket League maxed out, 144 fps. Cyberpunk w some ray tracing looked good ~60fps. DLSS should keep it relevant, unless 'planned obsolescence' happens. Think I'll keep it.

What's the best way to get rid of all the bloatware on this. Clean windows install and redownlaod all the drivers from hp?

Sorry, my bad. I saw a photo of the motherboard in a Victus review, it looked to me like there were two slots. You're right, there's only one.

Does your ram has the same specs? I rather do 8gb2x or 16gb 2x. Sure you get 8gb more but if the timing and other don't match.

I'm getting a yellowish tint screen too. Notice it immediately when turn on. Thinking of returning it. Anyone got a good screen? I might get a replacement if that is the case.

Yeah it's spec'ed similarly. More ram is better than perfectly matched 'less' ram IMO as long as it boots. Yeah Linus will tell you ideally your dual channel modules would benchmark better if a specifically matched set and whatnot, but let's be honest, this is a budget machine. I just had that 16gb DDR4 module able to do a double swap from an old machine.

Mine had this but very faint. Go to monitor calibration in windows and adjust the color. I turned red and green down and left blue at max. Helped a lot

I try to look in setting and couldn't find the control for adjustment. Most controls are very high level. Hate these changes on windows.
