Vinegar + baking soda becomes water + a salt precipitate. Mixing these two items will neutralize both.

Never used these before but I hear about needing to. I have a top load he washer. Any other alternatives or use these cleaners? I heard vinegar a lot but also heard vinegar messes up the gaskets over time.

You could use oxi clean instead

Best advice I have seen on SD was to stop using liquid detergent and use powder instead in a front loader. Never had to wash it since switching, and it smells so much better.

Anyone know how this compares to Affresh? Affresh was recommended by a mold specialist. Pretty much the same thing other than fragrance?
