Another $30 on top of it? That's stupid. So if we cancel before October, then it's good right?

been waiting for this... i had to cancel my membership since i was going away for a few months. It's an ok gym.. not much.. just the equipment you need... so don't expect a stream room or sauna....

The gym is ok.. they have a no grunting policy (it's a no judgment zone).. you cannot freeze your membership unless it's a medical situation.

They have this promo till the Jan 8.

and yes there is a $30 annual fee around Oct 1st.... regardless it's still cheaper than the other gyms even with the $30 fee

It's right there in the original post "Annual Membership Fee of $29.00 will be billed on or shortly after October 1st."

If you want to use the service and cancel before the annual membership fee then "to cancel the billing of this annual fee, the club requires notification in writing on or before September 25th."

So you pay $10 a month plus $29? $120 + $29 = $149. I'll have to tell the wife to cancel this membership which we don't even use now but still pay. It's on her card! I told her to drop that membership since the gym is so boring she said. Then why the heck are you paying monthly on it? I think cheaper to use the Wii Fit then to pay for hidden sneaky fees.

The timing of this deal is meant to capitalize on idiots who are obese that make the same New Year's Resolution to "lose weight" and never pull through. Also, by October, they hope, these people will have totally forgotten and will not remember it until their Card is charged. Don't fall for this one!

I never wanted to join I don't even go there. But good to know what is really going on at this gym. Shame on them. What you say is true though in a way the staff told me once that they have 4,000 members but only 100 show-up daily. So what happen to the 3,900 members? I guess there to many of us get stuck in crap deals like this!

$30 annual fee? So what? That would mean it actually equals out to $1 to join and $12.50 a month. Still seems like a good deal to me.

Most gym memberships are from $20-$50 a month. Example... 24hr fitness equals 24.99-64.99 a month.

They need to say that in the mailing fliers! Thus they want me to recommend the gym for friends and family to join. Otherwise if you use the gym weekly then I guess it would be a good deal. If you don't go as often or don't go then it makes no sense to keep on paying for it!

Your post is the thing thats idiotic, or perhaps you. So if someone has a resolution to lose weight this year, they are idiots? I'm sure at least one of your friends or family has had that resolution. So what if they end up failing? They should stop trying? Who are you to judge their resolution? In fact, this gym's deal is perfect for them. If they do give up, well then they didn't break the bank to begin with. If they give up before October, well no loss. If they don't, well $29 is a small price to pay to celebrate their ongoing perseverance.

And fyi ALL gym memberships are an upsell; that's what they need to do to survive. You think this gym is the only one doing deals around this time of year? Maybe you should call around and see(I did). Then compare who has the better 'new year' deal.

When i went to their website, i clearly read the $29 renewal fee in next October; also reiterated by OP. I'm sorry but reading comprehension is a pre-requisite to a financial transaction in most cases so if you cannot fulfill that, then you shouldn't be here. Also, is that such a deal breaker? I assure you even with that fee added in, this gym is way cheaper than MOST national gyms.

So people, if you have that 'get fit' resolution, if you are looking for a gym, do try this one out. Its inexpensive, easy to cancel, little to no brute-force sales tactic.
