Olfa's what I would recommend over this. You can get the Olfa 9mm utility knives at around this price. I have the NA-1, SVR-2, and SAC-1 and they are all freaking amazing. Now those are in the 9mm range. Going to 18mm, I would recommend either LA-X or L-5 depending on your preference on the lock type. That pick at the end is so freaking useful. I also have the 25mm NH-1. In addition, you can get saw blades for the 25mm utility knife. It's amazing to have that to do quick sawing work like cutting dowels, etc. I replaced all of the standard ss blades with their black carbon blades.

I know I'm waxing lyrical about utility knives but man... Olfa's the jam! You just have to be careful not to slice yourself. It's that sharp. I stopped using my other types of utility knives after I found Olfa. The ability to have a fresh blade by snapping the current blade? *chef's kiss

Also random fact, I thought Olfa is some Scandinavian brand or something due to its name. Nope. Japanese. LOL

The cost of replacement blades depends on the brand and quantity. 18mm is a standard size, so there are dozens of brands to choose from. I got several packs of the Walmart Hypertough brand when they were clearing them out for 25 cents for a pack of five. If you look around you will find good deals on the blades.

Ah nice - appreciate this. I've avoiding mixing blades for concern that they wouldn't be interchangeable.

Have this, getting another because it always gets misplaced. Great utility knife, especially for this price. Good grip and solid durability, just break dull blade with pair of pliers to keep the metal casing nice and straight. Blades are confirmed as interchangeable, using cheap Menards brand blades in it.
