To continue the tradition, I might as well start the thread now.

Black Friday is a great time of the year... for the retailers to get rid of old overpriced stuff that no one wanted to buy during the year. Don't let them fool ya. Oh no!

So post here if you're disappointed with what you see and think that the deals suck this year. Just like they did last year, the year before that, the year before the year before ...

Man, I miss the Staples deals. I still have a framed receipt of some RAM I got delivered for $0.03.

Black Friday was at its peak when everyone wanted car navigation systems. Back when GPS was thousands of dollars to add after market to a vehicle and it cost hundreds to get the update CDs alone. The first years of the compact units that stuck to the dashboard. All those gizmos we sell now to hold cellphones in cars were developed originally for car GPS units - because despite having cell phones, screens and live streaming data weren't ubiquitous.

Don't tell the tweens the only reason -any- car has a USB plug is because old GPS units needed to be updated and needed not just power but data.

It's true what everyone says, every year is worse than the last. I think the last TRULY great BF was back in the early late '90s/early '00s. My friend once scored a Buy 1, Get 1 Free Sega DREAMCAST a month or so after it had first LAUNCHED, from a long dead site called "Value America." Today, that would be like B1G1 Free PS5/Xbox!!! Prop's if anyone can remember WTH I am even talking about (this was late 2000, I believe?).

BF is now just a marketing gimmick. This year showed this very clearly. Month long small deals (on price gauged MSRPs) is nothing but consumer scam feeding on our previous BF believes. Just be carefull.

I think it also shows how much Slickdeals sucks.
When I got up on CyberMonday and came to Slickdeals the items on first row of FrontPage were JIF Peanut Butter, Pet treats, and Oreo Cookies.

Remember when you would look multiple times on BF at slickdeals and never see half of the posts? That did not happen this year.
