That's what a Mechanical Keyboard means and implies.

Haha thanks for that. Gave me a good laugh. The good ones don't do that.

The laptop is well built, I'll give you that. But the keyboard doesn't live up to the hype and the trackpad is just the worst I've seen -- oh yes the trackpad "clangs" when you swipe on it. The loudest laptop experience.

In how many days did you return it after the purchase? And did you get a full refund to your original payment method?
I'm asking because I just dropped off a Dell G15 for return today, which I bought on November 1. I know the return policy is within 30 days, but I've heard on Reddit that Dell sometimes charges restocking fees or something similar.

I don't remember for certain but I think it took 2-3 weeks. Dell doesn't charge restocking fee for consumers as far as I know.

GPU is pretty decent for 1080p, but may have trouble at top graphics settings for AAA games at native 1600x1200 resolution since it's just 8gb video ram.

According to IGN the mobile GPU is 140w, which is same as you'd find in higher tier premium gaming laptops:

"GeForce RTX 4070 GPU with the maximum TGP wattage of 140W (115W + 25W dynamic)"

I get it you're the resident laptop Nazi but there are many different mechanical switches and if these resemble blues they're no longer in style and more quiet switches are in. I think their comment was helpful.

For real, man needs to get off of his horse, there are many switch types and that is not specified here.

Any critique regarding a product is promptly deflected, regardless of the helpfulness to the consumer. Sadly SD will prob delete my comment since it's "off-topic".

Based on the description Dell uses I believe they are browns, which to someone that prefers a quiet keyboard will still sound loud. I myself prefer purely linear but that is hard to do on a laptop mech keyboard, so tactile is prob the way to go (I guess?).

That image is deceiving. This is a chunky laptop. That makes sense given the specs but that picture makes it look thinner.

I've had other clicky laptop keyboards that I really love. I really meant it when I said "metallic ping" on these; It's a ringing sound that just sounds cheap, and the tactile feedback is worse than even hp omens.

I was so excited about the cherry mechanical on these and specifically wanted the blue like switches over the brown-like ones on corsair air. But I found these disappointing and looking at how these are now on dell outlet I guess a lot of people felt the same.

They do feel more like browns than blues from my experience.
