If you have Chase freedom series credit card, Paypal is within the 5% cashback category this quarter. In the PayPal app, there could also be a Best Buy 5% cashback offer. If you purchase from Best Buy and pay with PayPal, you could get the 5% + 5%.

If this were the M3, I'd consider it at this price. Upgrading from a 2020 MBA M1. I'd appreciate the upgrade chassis and RAM, but the M2 is already two generations behind.

Yes it's essentially a 2 year old computer design, but they haven't been sitting around for 2 years. It's currently the low end version of the Air that Apple sells and was likely only manufactured in the last month or two.

I do get your point though and I'm torn on what I want to eventually get. There are noticeable pros/cons between the Air and Pro.
What would you say are the noticeable pros/cons between the Air and Pro?

Glad to see 16GB prices dropping, they're great machines even 2 gens behind, just don't forget if you're transferring large files often this does have the gimped SSD so it will be slower. But in reality not that many people will give a toss.
Like how badly gimped?

Yeah, I was going to wait until next year, but who knows how high prices will go once tariffs are enacted. I'll probably get something on sale this year just to play it safe. It's not lime I need a new laptop, but if i don't get something now (might go M4 anyway) I might not be able to afford something at next year's prices. Was really hoping to save for a 5080, but that's out of the question now.

I bought the Best Buy deal a few days ago, so tried to price match this by chat but they refused it twice. If they won't price match this then their price match policy is worthless. Lesson learnt and will be buying from Amazon next time.
Did they give you a reason why? Maybe try in store.

For starters both are more than powerful enough for most people. Main differences, pro or con depends on your needs.

Air: Size and weight! .7 pounds lighter and thinner. Probably better for people on the go. The 256GB drive is noticeably slower, but you probably wouldn't notice it, if that makes sense? For base model you're much more likely to find better deals like this.

Pro: Screen size is 14.2" vs 13.6" Brighter and better XTR screen. HDR will noticeably pop more. A fan if you're a heavier duty user. SD card slot and better/more ports but can't remember the configuration. Also offer a M3 Pro and Max option but they get much pricier.

For most people the Air is more than enough and the weight/size is very noticeable. That said you'll fall in love with the Pros screen, but the Airs screen isn't a slouch.

A 60% tariff on this would make it $1,200.00. So, if you need this, don't delay. These are the good ol' days.

In what way? List or bullet point format?
More importantly why? Current format is fine because I didn't want a long list which might upset others. Also, kinda rude to just tell someone to do that!

Walked out $664 total with 5% chase freedom + 5% bestbuy offer at PayPal+ price match via chat. They refused to price match the first time but it worked the second time. They said they wouldn't price match because it's a limited time deal???

I assume you mean $674 before taxes?

$749 - 10% = $674 before tax, did you have an extra $10 off coupon or anything?

Also, just curious, how did you manage to use PayPal on their price match invoice?

I bought the 8GB a few weeks ago at $700, but with the Instacart/Paypal 30% + Chase 5% for a net of ~$455. Any ideas how to exchange for the 16GB and only be out $50?

As much as it pains me I don't think it's worth trading back in and losing the ~$250 unless I'm decently confident PayPal won't come back for the points.

Best buy would not let me price match. The first agent I spoke with said it was eligible, but the only way to use paypal to get the extra cashback was to buy the item normally and get price matched afterward, which had to go through a second agent that denied the match and had to cancel the order.

Did you possible save the transcript with the first agent? Maybe you can try in person. It's really unfair that they are inconsistent with their price matching policy.
