Friends don't let friends buy Blink cameras.
It's a good price for entry level security system. I won't buy any camera lower than 2k resolution. Also with Ring & Blink the cameras are pretty much useless without subscription. I personally prefer cameras with built-in local storage.
I bought a 5 pack back in 2022. Doorbell is the only thing that works and shows ok images. The cameras are pretty bad (low res and struggles with lagging and the video constantly stops and asks if i want to continue to view) The sync module can be painfully clunky to setup. I would not recommend the camera system.

I got 3 blink outdoor cameras a while back. They are usually armed most of the time so I get notified if there is any activity outside. They run on batteries and there is some lag between motion detection and recording. They're okay and require a subscription plan. I would not use their doorbell though.

Huh? You can view events in the "Clips" tab in the Blink app. Viewing clips from local storage without a Blink subscription can be a little slow though and I frequently get "system is busy" errors. Feels like they make viewing clips from local storage glitchy to try and push people to pay for the subscription.

Yup. This is what I do.

They don't allow you to filter if you don't have a subscription, which is stupid but whatever.

My cameras mostly work okay. I have a floodlight camera that inexplicably goes offline randomly, requiring a power cycle. Same floodlight camera isn't consistent about detecting motion.

That's really strange because I am looking at video right now online. Finally I am doing the impossible! No, I don't have a subscription, just as sd card in the module

The people who are complaining are expecting bank quality type cameras. Ring and blink work perfect for being able to see who is at your door etc.

I've had a blink cameras for a few years (grandfathered into free storage plan) but have recently started transitioning my cameras to Tapo brand cameras. Tapo has been incredibly better than Blink and offers local storage, solar cameras, better quality video and so much more. I'll be glad once I finally get rid of my last remaining blink cams

Gonna reiterate what someone else already said- add the sync module to your Blink system and it's an excellent choice over Ring.

Never used the subscription here and going strong with my $50 blink bundle for the 4 cameras earlier this year.

I've had blink so long I'm grandfathered into the free storage. That being said I use these in conjunction with an NVR to basically give me some ideas of what times to search the NVR. The videos are short and not great, lots of false positives but I use it with other cameras. If you can get them for cheap they can be helpful.

You can view them online from anywhere with the blink app, what are you talking about?

Wrong. Just pull them up on your phone through the app.
