That's not how it works. Someone can steal my watch all day long; the moment it's off my wrist it's useless for anything until the passcode is keyed into it. So without that, it's pointless.

While you're right that in a business setting it's not the best (watch would my device anytime I walked up to it, which may not always be desirable in business), at home this is typically just fine. And fortunately this is easy to disable for work Mac and keep working on home Mac.
Yes on code if wrist breaks contact. I remember now.

In office, at coffee shop, at home. It's a lack of security if someone close to the computer can jus unlock if you are close enough.
Even if it is at home, the fact that anyone in the house could unlock your computer is not a good security. What if anyone visiting can just unlocked your computer? Yes of course you know and should trust the people you let in but that's not the point. The computer itself shouldn't be that easy to unlock.

That's the point. That's why it's not secure enough for me to enable that feature.

It's fast enough for me to press my finger on the touchid sensor to unlock. until faceid actually works!

Well, I'd argue your premise is wrong still, because it was. Smilie. Once wrist contact is lost, it's useless. And if you're close enough (at a coffee shop, say) you'll be right on top of it; it's a nonissue.

If anyone just visiting unlocked my machine? In my house, while I'm within a meter or so of it? Seriously?

Find a new problem. Smilie

That looks good to me. I like LG screens.
yeah, we really like our lg 42" oled for tv viewing, but i wasn't sure if that quality went to their non-oled monitors. not expecting oled level of course, but above average.

It's actually "very close to your Mac" per Apple. https://support.apple.com/en-us/102442

In a practical sense, 1 to 1.2 meters. https://discussions.apple.com/thr...ortBy=rank

Again, in the real world, with people who actually own and use an Apple Watch, this isn't an issue. It's a wonderful feature.

I can't imagine why you'd be anti-Apple Watch, but this is now #2. Frown. Please find a new problem; this isn't one.

Love the products too but it doesn't matter the setup, I'm never going to unlock anything due to close proximity....that's just me and my security mind. Maybe when there is an AI solution, I will consider it.

Same! Thank you! lol

My car will let me unlock too if I'm about 6 inches from the car. I'm ok with that. It does not drive unless my ass is in the seat though. There is a pin to drive option also (but I don't use this feature). My ass in the seat is fine. Smilie

I'm just saying this before someone says but I let my car unlock with proximity Smilie

How does it know it's your ass in the seat?

Sensors on the seat. Well someone's ass but I always approach the car from the driver door so I know it's my ass sitting in it since I just opened the driver door Smilie

It's rather hard to climb over into the driver seat from passenger or back seats. I've tried!!!
