If MC price is coming down to $499 tomorrow, I think Amazon and others will follow shortly.

This is good news for BF/CM where there may be one more effort before we hit the bottom.

Still holding out.....

Just keep in mind, an M2 mini with 32GB will outperform an M4 with 16B, especially for demanding tasks like video editing, heavy multitasking, or running complex applications, due to the large difference in RAM capacity, even though the M4 might be slightly more powerful per core. But it all depends on what configuration is best for your specific applications.
How much is a M2 with 32gb?

That's insane.

If you have an Amazon card for 5% off don't buy stuff with your credit becaus you won't get that discount. Transfer the money out.
i can't believe i didn't think that if you have a $20 sale that you reduced in price by applying $10 worth of points to, of course the 5% rewards for that sale is based on $10, not $20. duh! i just transferred my rewards value to my checking acct. thanks for posting the obvious that i just didn't realize.

The base model at $499 is the sweet spot for a very capable, newly-released mac mini M4. I don't need one right now, so I'll wait until Cyber Monday to buy Apple Gift cards with 20% less CITI Thank You points and order one then.
Is CITI doing that for Cyber Monday this year?

Simply use the rewards for things (at Amazon) where you don't earn points (like items not soldbyamazon/shippedbyamazon) you'll not lose anything.

No, it won't.

The M2 will outperform the M4 ONLY IF you are running out of memory and paging, in which case the M4's performance is crippled because it's out of RAM to use for XYZ application.

In most normal scenarios (ie not in Photoshop with a 16 layer graphic) the M4 walks all over the M2, 16GB or 32GB.

Editing video in 16GB, the M4 will walk all over the M2; there are a few advances in the chip that bump the speed up quite a bit.

How is the Apple Watch not secure enough? Is there a known exploit available?

it appears you have to look at checkout whether you get the 5% or not on a product. here's an item not sold or shipped by them, and you still get the 5%.

someone close enough to me can unlock the computer because I am near it... 3m even if I'm not actually right in front of the computer.

Just think about how secure that is... let that sink in

Anyone who takes your watch can unlock your mac while it's still active and sensing it is "you".

Does that sound very secure?

That's not how it works. Someone can steal my watch all day long; the moment it's off my wrist it's useless for anything until the passcode is keyed into it. So without that, it's pointless.

While you're right that in a business setting it's not the best (watch would my device anytime I walked up to it, which may not always be desirable in business), at home this is typically just fine. And fortunately this is easy to disable for work Mac and keep working on home Mac.
