Really happy with the base Mac Mini M4. I had a previous Intel Mac Mini, so I due for an upgrade. The only thing I will miss is the 32GB of RAM. I used it with an aluminum dock/SSD enclosure for more ports. You might need a USB A to C adapter. Also, a wired keyboard/mouse unless you have Apple keyboard/mouse/trackpad. Other than that, it's great. Will be great for several years.

Any inputs from the good folks at Slickdeals. With this price point, why to get a MacBook Pro laptop, just get this and set up on a good monitor. I get the convenience of laptop, but that's not a factor for me.

the Mini is hands-down the best deal you can get on an M4 mac right now. Like, it's not even close.

You'd be hard pressed to build a more capable PC for the price... which is something that can't often be said about a Mac

About time these came with 16 GB standard!

I bought an M2 Pro mini two years ago with 16 GB and 256 SSD for double this price and that was a deal, so this seems to be really nice price

I pre-ordered the base model and traded in my M2 Mac Mini. The 16gb ram was the right move by Apple and a good value at $499 overall (via the education discount.)

Stocked up on $100 Apple GCs when Target had their annual $10 or $15 Target GC deals (for spending $100 or more on Apple GCs). Since I buy from Target often, the Target gift cards are like cash. These Apple GCs will be used to purchase one of these M4 Mac Minis via their education store (son is a college student). That's about a $150 savings. Selling my M1 Mac Mini for about $200 or more justifies the cost of upgrading every 3 years. So this M4 Mini is really costing me only $250 not counting tax. This technique is a hassle to some, but it's fun for me knowing I scored.

I have an Amazon business card and $100 worth of "Amazon points". Any reason why I shouldn't just use rhe Amazon points to buy an Apple gift card and get it from the education store?

I already have 2 working monitors that have HDMI on one and VGA on the other. I also have new wire new keyboard and mouse...can anyone advise a way to connect those with this Mac mini? It only has an HDMI port, no USBA for mouse and keyboard... thank you

The base model at $499 is the sweet spot for a very capable, newly-released mac mini M4. I don't need one right now, so I'll wait until Cyber Monday to buy Apple Gift cards with 20% less CITI Thank You points and order one then.
