Good price for the WiFi version. Lots of comments on SD say the app is pretty useless (it is) but the one thing I personally like to do with it is run both of my 400S's at full blast from 4-5am every morning. It's nice to know the air has been fully cycled every morning including running the smart setting the rest of the day. You can only do that with the app.

Great price. I paid $339 back in July for the regular 400 model. I've the 300S and I don't have a need to run it with the app. I've 2 300 and 2 400 in the house running in Smart mode 24/7 and works out well for me.

I have tried a lot of air purifiers and this one is really good but a bit loud at the highest setting. I have to wash out both pre-filters weekly as they pick up a lot of dog hair. The filters are constructed rather well and I like the build quality.
The negative is the app, I'm constantly getting disconnected and the air purifier will go offline as well with this. When this happens you can no longer control the unit with voice because the alexa skill gets disabled and you have to go through the process of connecting it repeatedly. Normally I'd tell you to pass on the smart features but at this price just don't rely on it. I've only owned the unit for a few months but so far it has been outstanding.

Of course. The app is just a feature on the "S" models

What about other options? Doesn't work best with the OG or others just as good?

We have 4 of these running in our house for like 2 years now. We've been getting the generic filters off of Amazon, it comes out to $100 or so to replace all 4 filters. We aren't seeing a shorter life, and her allergies have not worsened with the generic filters.

Have you tested the 2.5 particle count and VOC reduction rates with generic filters and are they as effective as the generic ones?
Edit: even worse generic filters could actually worsen the air quality sometimes by introducing VOCs. Sure they could remove some
Basic allergens but we can never be sure they are providing the full spectrum of protection and causing no additional harm.

You dont need to pay the extra money for the wifi version. Buy a $6 smart plug that comes with its own app (I use Govee but there are dozens) and you can set timers and schedules via that app. That's what I've been doing and it's been working perfectly for over a year.

Decided to upgrade my Airmega AP-1512HH for my bedroom. I waste so much money on air purifiers and filter replacements (run one at home and one at work).

Yes, I know about the DIY kits using furnace filters and shit. Don't trust them. My take is that they might not hold onto particles as well and effectiveness relies on fan speed and shit, and they seem to likely lose effectiveness significantly over time. I dunno.

This is cheaper than the non-wifi one when it goes on sale, so I'm not sure how spending less is wasting money, lol.

Great idea on the scheduled clean. I completely agree that the app is pretty worthless otherwise.
