I got the philips 3200 used through amazon refurbs, and it was like new, and is awesome (also worth the savings).

Can't comment on this one but the Philips 3200 is an amazing piece, super easy to clean and it has many drinks. The cleaning part is the biggest pain for most super automatics

I think I'll be doing the same.

The latest delonghi Electra explore have like 50+ options but it's another step up at $1600 vs the 5500...

Is this truly a $1000 machine that's being sold for $500?

I've been looking to get an espresso machine, and for now I've settled on the Bambino Plus the next time it goes on sale for $400 (MSRP is $500).

I want to know this too. Wife has tasked me with getting a new coffee machine this BF. Seems Breville, Philips or delonghi are the main brands so far.

Quick search shows this $1k RRP to be BS.
a whole bunch of other seekers have it between $499 and $550, discount from either $650-800.
