This is the HD set if anyone is interested. Same price right now. It's changed a bit over the years, I have maybe 10 around vehicles and the house.

I bought 3 of these when they were $10. Not as good as the Home Depot husky version but not terrible.

Same here. Bought two last December for $10 each to keep in my trunk for emergencies. I have yet to use them. $10 was a no brainer price.

I have one in my camper, it's a decent basic kit but the clasp on the case always pops off. Minor headache.

Picked up a few of these non-stubby sets last week. Tempting to swap for the stubby set for the extra sockets, but the extensions, ujoint, and better case are probably the better tradeoff.

I have a previous generation Husky set that I use a lot. I bought the new Husky version and this Kobalt set to side by side compare. The new Husky ones have sockets with very thin walls, it is laughably bad. The Kobalt sockets also probably weigh around 20-24% more. The Kobalt sockets are better. Sadly I had to return the Husky.

Got 4 of these last year for $10. If it goes on sale again I will get a few more. Works good. The clasp is cheap as hell but it just a case lock.

That sucks to hear. I think the last one I bought was 3-4 years ago, all of mine have held up well but they're definitely previous generations.

Was that an online sale, clearance, or in-store offer?

I thought this was a good deal until I went searching YouTube for reviews and found a guy who purchased this exact set in January of this year (after Christmas sale?) For $10. That video can be found here: https://youtu.be/pPYZ7P2sh7k?si=oDHUNKMmf5IZO2cx
