kinda cool but I've never desperately wanted to slow cook my lunch... any good use for this? Granted, the microwave at my office is so slow it won't even cook popcorn, so this might not be much slower for me.

I dont think this is for cooking. It is just to keep your food warm on the go.
You can warm your food if required.

How is this considered "portable" if you need an outlet to turn it on? It should be usb c for power banks or batteries

I remember getting a bunch of these on sale like 7 years ago and gave them to some office mates as gifts. Then we were told we couldn't use them anymore because of them being a "fire hazard" -.- Still bitter. Loved using them.

Same. I have used them for about 8 years since the first version came out. This is the 3rd generation I think. The 2nd gen was 28oz, so they've shrunk over time. The power supply situation has gotten better though.

I rarely stand in line for the microwave at work when I use mine, which gives me 5-10 minutes more to eat and relax. The only reason I've had to replace previous versions is because the plastic lids eventually degrade after many trips in the dishwasher. I highly recommend them.

I was hoping it takes batteries or something. I pack my kids school lunch every day and they have no microwave to use and are sick of "cold" food. A thermos is fairly messy for a kid to deal with.

Yes, I had the same issue. The only thing I have found like that is LunchEaze and I bought my son one and it is great for hot lunches at school but it cost 4-5 times more than this item unfortunately.
