I've been in the market for a carryon and checked luggage for domestic flights in the US. Are these sizes compatible with all US flights?

20" in standard for carry one. 28" is on the large size. I usually go with a 24" for checked baggage. Full, my 24" is around 45lb. A few times a year you'll see WOOT have a blowout for 20/24/28 samsonite sets for under $200.

Correct... but manufacturers don't typically include the wheels in that marketing label. Additionally, width and depth can vary enough to disqualify a particular piece of luggage from a given airline. For example, this particular 20" carry on is likely too large to serve as a carry on for United [united.com] but would be fine on Southwest [southwest.com].

Great price for two bags, but there are a couple downsides. Both bags weigh about 8 lbs -- 8.1 and 8.7 for carry-on and checked, respectively. That leaves about 40-41 lbs for your stuff if checking. Also, they are literally just shells, so there's no organization pockets or dividers of any sort, other than the main zipper on each side.

I'm looking for luggage for my daughter, but the lack of organization would make an unhappy traveler in her case. That said, if you're looking for no frills from a name brand, this seems like a good deal.

This or the Omni... lightweight vs durability. Thinking the Omni wins just hope they appear here again. The Omni 2 has slightly more stable weels.

Skip the Omni due to the single wheels 🛞 I have the Omni from the previous woot blowout but should've went with double wheels
