Got my Verizon iPhone today. added a payment method on my new Verizon account.
dialed 8008374966 and provided the new phone number
Said "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts.
Fully paid the 299$ for the device with Automated system without talking with a live person.

Then called in and spoke to a live person and canceled the line.

Last time a bunch of us did this, I believe we learned that the clock starts ticking for the Verizon 3 day cancellation when the phone ships. Thus it was recommended to only buy in store and not for shipping. I was able to buy in store, create account, call Verizon to pay in full and then cancel all within 24-36 hours.

If you're waiting 3 days for the shipment I don't see you getting out of the activation fee.

Cancelled purple here too....did you see credit check happened?
I don't see any credit check.
I ordered 2 with my existing VZ account and 1 with my mom new account and they canceled all 3.
It's from my email:"We're sorry, we had to cancel your delivery order because of an unexpected issue."

You're awesome, thank you for the clarification! Just to confirm—when we receive a new phone with a fresh eSIM number already set up, will it activate automatically once we turn the phone on? No extra steps required?
Not sure to be honest.

All I know is that the 3 days to cancel (and get the $35 activation fee refunded) starts when they ship the phone (and usually is delivered in two days - leaving you with one day to pay it off and cancel the line). But I believe the 60 days unlock starts when you turn on the phone and the phone activates.

I didn't get any notifications of a credit check either. But I already have a Verizon account so maybe why? No idea..

If I just want to pay off the phone and move it to a postpaid plan on Verizon, do I have to wait the 60 days? Or can I do that as soon as device is paid off?

For T-mobile, once it is paid off, I call customer service and I can get it unlocked immediately without waiting 45-60days whatsoever.
Those days are over at T-Mobile. Now you have to wait 45 days

During the 60 days, do you still have to pay $75/month?

You can get it as an upgrade on postpaid. Then you can pay it off after the first months bill.

So if I get this on AT&T and pay it off in full can I then immediately turn around and trade it in to get the extra credit for iPhone 16 Pro? Reading AT&T terms and it looks like I can't do it but hoping I am misunderstanding.
yes,you can do this. i did the same deal last year, bought ip13 then paid off after purchase. then use that for ip15 trade in $1000 credits. All they check is phone doesnt have any damage and fully paid off.

You can cancel new line with in 3 days , once device is paid off in cash at store YMMV

Worst case - you have to wait for 14 days to pay off device so $35 activation/upgrade charge + Monthly plan charges on pro-rated.

Phone will be unlocked after 60 days from activation

Verizon:

128GB - https://www.walmart.com/ip/seot/1...tryType=WL

Same here - both orders. Original deliver date was Thursday. Let's see if they shipped overnight or 2day. This should start the 3 day cancel clock.

For those with a Verizon account..

* Do you have to turn on the phones in order to activate them or are they coming in active already?
* Can you pay this off right away online or does it have to be in store?
* Can you pay this off via credit card (online or in store) and not affect current autopay discounts?
* Once paid off, can you cancel the line online or does it have to be in store?
* And unlock 60 days clock starts when the device is activated, even if the line is cancelled, right?

Devices shipped so the 3day starts today. Assume for "in store" it has to be a corporate store.

Would it allow you to set up an online account after the device ships, so that we can add credit card info and utilize that to payoff phone using automated device payment via phone service, I remember using that last year for iPhone 13, anyone used that option recently to payoff device ?
