Got my Verizon iPhone today. added a payment method on my new Verizon account.
dialed 8008374966 and provided the new phone number
Said "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts.
Fully paid the 299$ for the device with Automated system without talking with a live person.

Then called in and spoke to a live person and canceled the line.

Last time a bunch of us did this, I believe we learned that the clock starts ticking for the Verizon 3 day cancellation when the phone ships. Thus it was recommended to only buy in store and not for shipping. I was able to buy in store, create account, call Verizon to pay in full and then cancel all within 24-36 hours.

If you're waiting 3 days for the shipment I don't see you getting out of the activation fee.

*** How to update Apple purchase date ***
From your Verizon online account, go to Account, Bill, Documents & receipts
Download the Customer Agreement PDF that has the service agreement and IMEI and barcodes
Go to https://checkcoverage.apple.com
Enter serial number
If it says no purchase date found, continue to create a case and request a call back
Upload the PDF
After the call back they said it could take up to 5 days for the date to be reflected
I checked the serial after 5 minutes and it was updated

My Customer Agreement doesn't have the IMEI or barcodes
The customer agreement doesn't have the serial number correct?

Thank you for confirming. Did you turn on your phone before moving it to mint? Or you moved from Verizon to mint first and then turned it on?

I have a different concern:
I got the phone, paid it off (Verizon) and cancel the line to wait for 60 days to get it unlocked.
However, going through the settings, I noticed the standard Apple Warranty is expired. Don't apple provides Manufacturer's warranty for a year?
The box was sealed when I got it and do not shows signs of refurbished or open box (battery life is 100%).
Not sure what's the deal here.

May be it will be unlocked after 60days? But you are able to call from it? This is so confusing.

Was it Verizon ? Check if it still shows sim restrictions in settings ?

Correct. Request a call back from Apple and they'll guide you through. They'll just need the serial number and the order purchase proof

I bought two phones to replace older iPhones from previous Walmart deals. I'm on a relatively-ancient Verizon plan so no good loyalty offers, and changing plans doesn't make sense.
I had the usual issues placing the orders, but after enough tries both went through. I received the phones a few days ago, both appear to be brand new but older stock (iOS 16 installed, batteries near empty on arrival, but showing 100% life once charged). I ended up having to use iTunes to update to iOS 18, and called 877-807-4646 to activate the new phones (automatic activation failed).
Only one device purchase agreement is showing on Verizon's end so far. I chatted and they said they would credit both activation fees (first they said only one, but I asked nicely and they said they'd do both.) Still working with Apple on updating the warranty start dates, not sure what to do about the one without any Verizon documents showing.

I got my Verizon phone today and able to install Tmobile e-sim (move my existing number). Looks like my phone was unlocked when I paid in full. My account with Verizon is closed already while the phone was in transit. I am a new Verizon customer.
How did you know your account number or phone number to link to Verizon account (while the phone was in transit)?

So, it got stuck here, I cannot access settings, and esim is in the new iphone 14, it doesn't let me to erase it from settings, doesn't go beyond activation menu......any suggestions? thank you

Thanks the OP for posting this deal. It works for me. I do this with Verizon. Here are some notes:I placed order on Nov 13rd. The phone arrived on Nov 16th. This came brand new and locked and inactive.I had to turn on, connected to Wifi and get it activated. As far as the Verizon login, here is my case: When I placed order through Walmart, I have to create a Verizon account to complete the purchase. That's when I setup the PIN with Verizon. They will need your PIN later on to do some verification. Although I created a password for a new account, I couldn't login using that password. It asked for the zipcode. I tried some zipcode but it didn't work. I had to chat with Verizon to get access to my online account. They will text some link to your new number in your new phone to link the online account with the billing account. I see someone in this thread said that they can complete everything even though they haven't received/opened the phone. In my case, I have to have my phone handy because they send the text to that phone. Once I gained access to my online Verizon account, I added the credit card in the payment method. Then called the automatic system to pay off the balance of the phone ($299).Once paying off, I made a request using my online account to disconnect the service. However, the request was scheduled to next month, meaning I have to pay for one month of service + activation fee. I chat with the online agent, asking to disconnect the line today and also waive the activation fee. They adjusted my account, remove the activation fee. But the balance due is still one month of service. I mentioned that and they adjusted the balance again to be only $8.88. I immediately paid that last balance due. Now I have to wait for 60 days for the phone to be unlocked. I had purchased the similar deal with Total Wireless, which is also Verizon and their unlock policy is the same (60 days). We shouldn't worry about that unlocking period. So, total of the deal is $299 + $26 tax + $8.88 (2-day service) ~ $333.The current price of the same phone 14 256G on Apple.com is ~ $786 (all inclusive)
could you please let us know when did you disconnet the service? before or after turning on the phone? Thanks

When calling 1-800-837-4966 to pay off the device, it simply texted a link to the new phones to chat with a Chatbot, which told me "the device is not eligible to be paid off, wait until December 15". How do you get the prompt to pay off the phone?
Try calling again multiple times.
