Got my Verizon iPhone today. added a payment method on my new Verizon account.
dialed 8008374966 and provided the new phone number
Said "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts.
Fully paid the 299$ for the device with Automated system without talking with a live person.

Then called in and spoke to a live person and canceled the line.

Last time a bunch of us did this, I believe we learned that the clock starts ticking for the Verizon 3 day cancellation when the phone ships. Thus it was recommended to only buy in store and not for shipping. I was able to buy in store, create account, call Verizon to pay in full and then cancel all within 24-36 hours.

If you're waiting 3 days for the shipment I don't see you getting out of the activation fee.

Hmm, got my ATT iPhone 14 and having such a headache with the eSim transfer from nearby iPhone setting. Unsure if it's my unlocked device that's too old (iPhone XR but it has esim capability) but it for some reason is not detecting the ATT iPhone 14 cellular plan at all. Can confirm on myATT the device is active and have used some data and a couple of calls. Weird part is my locked iPhone 12 on Metro detects it fine and asks if I would like to transfer the iPhone 14 line in.

Both devices are on iOS 18.1, Bluetooth on, same wifi name. Any ideas?

Verizon isn't letting me pay off the phone. I did the pay by phone thing "pay off device" . However, it applied the payment the exiting bill (service for the upcoming month) and left a $160 credit on the account. They aren't letting me pay off the device untill 12/12/2024

Reporting back on my experience. I canceled the line before even receiving the phone. But after receiving the phone today I opened another line with Verizon and learnt my 60 days window started from today and not when it was activated for shipping.

I did on the same day. The representative was so helpful to let me know what is going on with my device and account. She activated new line and discounted the plan for me without charging an activation fee. I asked politely and she helped me. But I canceled the line in store and not online.

Alright, I had the phone shipped. I have it in hand. There's no paperwork with the phone. I don't know my Verizon account or phone number. No SIM is included. The phone is unopened so I assume nothing has been done to it.

Any help?

Thanks for sharing. Which Verizon number did you call to talk to a representative about this? Can you please share what you told the representative about getting it activated? Is this a new number or the same number that was disconnected? I thought the 60 days start from when the original line is activated on the phone, which means when it shipped.

Turn it on .. it will activate and tell you the phone number.

account can be created without a pin, however when you link a line to that account then you would need pin and zipcode. pin would be the one you set up while placing order at walmart and zipcode should be the same from walmart order.
