If someone is trying to use this to get the fastest time, this is not the Rubik's Cube for you.

As someone stated in review, this is a collectible that just meant to sit on your shelf and not try to solve this as fast as they could.

You are much better off with the non-Rubik's brand - speed cube. Smoother turns, thus less frustrations for beginners and advance users alike. Some use magnets to interlock each turn in place.

I got one like this at a garage sales for $1, like new,...Don't know whether it's the original, later release, or CHINA knockoff???

China knockoffs are smoother and better to use. This one is designed for displaying. (The original is too since it's also crunchy)

Back in my day...rubik's cubes were so hard to turn you had to hope your wrists didn't break. All the cubes will fall out from getting stuck so much, and the stickers will fall off making the cube useless. Ahh yes, everything was better, this is meant to be just like the original.

A rubiks cube is a good stocking stuffer but spend a little more and get a good one.

If this is really like the original Rubik's cube which I've had in the past, it's going to suck for turning. There are so many better options even for $5. Just search for 3x3 speed cube and you'll have tons of options that are all going to be better to use than this one. If you really want this for the nostalgia go for it. But I'd just get a speed cube if you really want to play with it.
