Also on sale for $3200 is the Cannondale Moterra 4 Electric mountain bike:

https://www.rei.com/product/24549...ntain-bike

Not quite as nice specs as the Carbon Moterra 2, but still a reasonable full suspension electric mountain bike at a significantly lower price.

Hard to justify this price when you can buy a type bike with 10,000 W of power like a Siron or rawww for $3000 and bikes you don't get much when you go over $500 range

Are you comparing an ebike to a motorcycle?
This is just a bad take. There is a huge difference between a 500$ bike and a 3k bike. The front suspension alone costs 600$ on this bike.

Wow, and I thought I would be inb4 "250W motor" comments... woot

Feel free to disregard anyone giving you this advice as someone who has no idea what they are commenting on. Dig the hole deeper if they start talking "oh, its 36V or 48V or whatever. Thanks for the info dude, sign it and leave it in the trashcan on your way out, we will get back to you.

This is an OK deal but not great - IMHO.
The "Good" is that the bike is rideable as-is for what a 150mm travel eMTB should be ridden on.
The "Meh" is that this pricing is still inflated, i.e. the "30% off" price is what this bike should be MSRP at.

My thinking is that a eMTB is roughly $1-1.2K over the un-assisted version of the same.

This level of components is more or less what you should expect on a 2.5-3K bike, and trending on the upper limit cause carbon frame* and whatnot. That should leave us much closer to a $4.5K MSRP vs. a ~$6.7K MSRP.
The market is due for a correction of that magnitude, unless ofc everything is going to be tariffed to oblivion and end-prices will be the same for 2025+

*the utility for one is slim in a 55+ lb bike

Thanks for comments on this deal; clearly this deal is for a limited audience yet I thought it was worth posting.

It is aimed to the same rider market as the Yamaha motor, but the Bosch is considered to be one of the best if not the best in its class for the 2021-23 years (the latest Shimano 801 seems to be rivaling it, especially on how naturally it delivers power, and - when available to more markets - the new DJI motor seems to be dominant), and the Yamaha motors themselves have new versions that are bit better in how they deliver power but you will only find them in the latest of Giant's eMTBs that sport it and get good reviews about.

Yamaha is getting out of building bikes or might be planning a new one, so they've cleared their stock of Moros. Fine bike, but kinda dated/old at this point, and not just the motor.
