I would go see it in person in a warehouse. It's very washed out and has a narrow viewing angle. I purchased the Hisense 100U70N instead and have been very happy with it.
Dang, with a 100" TV I might never go out the movies again.
The u70n was 1649.99 in store for me . With 3 years of Allstate warranty on top. So for 50$ more. The u70n is better. And it's 100" vs 98 lol

Is this a good brand to spend $1600 + tax on ? TCL is a cheap brand. I have seen Samsung 85" for a similar price.

I also went w/ the Hisense. The TCL is totally fine if you don't have another TV next to it to compare. But agree that the Hisense had the superior picture if it's available for nearly the same price.

Very likely Hisense U8K will be on sale for 2999 during Black Friday and probably Xmas.

This is a far superior panel to the TCL Q6 and Q7. Most review sites argue even better than Q8

Unless this is for the kids room, grandma, or garage, don't skimp. The contrast, black floor, and minimal blooming is worth the upgrade especially on panels this large where all imperfections get amplified.

Saw this in store yesterday and was unimpressed by the picture. Contrast/brightness didn't seem great. The day before I looked at the $2200 QM7 at Bestbuy as well as the $1800 Hisense u7, PQ between the Hisense and qm7 seemed close to me but the tcl seemed a bit better but not much. I'm torn because I would be happy with the pq of the $1800 hisense, but not a fan of the bezels, the tcl has a much narrower and more frameless looking bezel. Seems silly but I'm going to wait because of that, hoping the TCL QM7 drops to around 2000 at Costco with the 5 year warranty at some point.

What about comparing to the Samsung 98" for $2500, also at Costco?

Samsung 98" Class - DU9000D Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV

Item 9498900

Model UN98DU9000DXZA

Worth the extra $$$ over the Hisense?
