All current Tracfone , Straight Talk, Total Wireless, Simple Mobile ONLY operates and activates on the Verizon Network exclusively. That's cause Verizon bought all of them. So any new phone will unlock in 60 days from ALL of them.

$262 otd to California. After reading 25 pages, here's my summary:

1. Use PayPal to get 7.5% back by logging into your PayPal account and search for promos, select StraightTalk. Will take you directly to StraightTalk site. That's what i did.
2. Chase card has 15% promo but caps at $15 discount, based on other users. I do not have Chase.
3. Purchase iPhone 13 with Silver plan. Must be Silver or higher to get $200 phone discount.
4. Do not select autopay to see PayPal payment option.
5. You can ship to different address if you're gifting it. They just need to understand the terms if they plan to unlock and use elsewhere or just stay with StraightTalk.
6. New phone needs to be activated, through StaightTalk online, for 60-day unlock countdown to begin. Phone does not need to be opened/used.
7. After the 30 plan expires, do not purchase another plan. Use it on WiFi or not at all.
8. After 60 days, phone will automatically unlock for any carrier.
9. Text "UNLOCK" to 611611 to confirm/see countdown.
10. Hope all goes well for us all.

You don't need to do anything. It should get unlocked after 60 days. Some rare case it didn't get unlocked, go https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/wps/portal/ and give the imei (and the phone number you got) and it will let you "reprocess" the unlock request online, if you still can't get it unlocked, you just call the phone number on that web page and they will unlock it for you. With that said, most time it will get unlocked automatically and you don't need to do anything.

The plan is tied to the phone IMEI, so you've got to use it in order to start the unlock countdown timer. You can set the phone up and use it as a Wi-Fi device without cell service for now and activate the plan later, but that will delay the unlock. The 60 day countdown starts when the ST service is activated (using their online activation page or calling the activation number).

Activation took 2 minutes for me. All you need to enter to activate is IMEI, not even the sim card number, which is automatically tied to IMEI.

So I got my phone and I'm so annoyed. Where is my plan pin? It says it's 15 numbers long but u don't see it. All I see and my imei, SIM card number, and 2 other set of numbers but they aren't 15 numbers long. I even look at my email and nothing


Also I used my imei on total instead of straight talk so it's screwing me up, and it's hard to get a real person on the line at straight talk

They don't give plan PINs when bundled with new phones … the plan is tied to the phone / IMEI. Activate the phone through their online activation page and the plan will automatically start.

Oh man, that's sucks for me. Like I said I think I activated my imei on total because I was so excited and just went through instruction quickly. When I do it on straight talk it obviously says it's been used

That shouldn't be a problem as long as the activation completed successfully. They're sister companies and some phones can be activated on their other companies (ST / TF / Total) without rebranding. I have purchased an ST phone and activated it on Tracfone before … it still unlocked 60 days later (a number of people have done that to get cheaper plans back when a plan purchase wasn't required with the phone). Try texting UNLOCK to 611611 and see if it gives a date.

The problem is that when I was doing it on total I couldn't finish because it's asking for a plan pin. Which as someone informed me I shouldn't be needing

You bought a Straight Talk plan not one for Total, phones may activate on either but plans are different.
