All current Tracfone , Straight Talk, Total Wireless, Simple Mobile ONLY operates and activates on the Verizon Network exclusively. That's cause Verizon bought all of them. So any new phone will unlock in 60 days from ALL of them.

This has been your PSA.

$262 otd to California. After reading 25 pages, here's my summary:

1. Use PayPal to get 7.5% back by logging into your PayPal account and search for promos, select StraightTalk. Will take you directly to StraightTalk site. That's what i did.
2. Chase card has 15% promo but caps at $15 discount, based on other users. I do not have Chase.
3. Purchase iPhone 13 with Silver plan. Must be Silver or higher to get $200 phone discount.
4. Do not select autopay to see PayPal payment option.
5. You can ship to different address if you're gifting it. They just need to understand the terms if they plan to unlock and use elsewhere or just stay with StraightTalk.
6. New phone needs to be activated, through StaightTalk online, for 60-day unlock countdown to begin. Phone does not need to be opened/used.
7. After the 30 plan expires, do not purchase another plan. Use it on WiFi or not at all.
8. After 60 days, phone will automatically unlock for any carrier.
9. Text "UNLOCK" to 611611 to confirm/see countdown.
10. Hope all goes well for us all.

You don't need to do anything. It should get unlocked after 60 days. Some rare case it didn't get unlocked, go https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/wps/portal/ and give the imei (and the phone number you got) and it will let you "reprocess" the unlock request online, if you still can't get it unlocked, you just call the phone number on that web page and they will unlock it for you. With that said, most time it will get unlocked automatically and you don't need to do anything.

I received the phone today and without thinking I put the sim card in and started to transfer my data from the other phone.
Meanwhile I looked at the small envelope and it asked me to go to total by verizon website. And I did, I put in the IMEI number and it asked me to pay for the first month and I got confused.

Then I went to my order I realized I ordered via straight talk, I then went to straigt talk website , now the activate page read my IMEI number and tells me my line belongs to another network.

After various calls, then i gave up. I logged in to my straight talk website I saw my IMEI number, but when I tried to activate it, it asks me to pay another 45 usd.

I felt I got robbed, should I just return this one and get a full refund? or I lose my 45 already? First time at this site I felt I got robbed.

I know I should have read carefully about the straight talk sign, but then paper work they gave is very confusing.
It says sim can be activated on one or the other - but since you bought a Straight Talk plan you shouldn't have attempted to activate on Total. Now you're going to have to deal with support just like someone else earlier today. It's going to be frustrating and there's nothing anyone here can do to help.

No so the person before was able to switch it back to straight talk. I know because the number is active on straight talk website. It just won't let me log in or create and account. When I try to someone real they get confused and just want me to pay for another month. Also how can they not refund me the plan? That sounds like robbery
If I were in your situation, I would just try to activate it with tracfone $10 plan so I can unlock it... $10 is better than talking with non-sense person for 1 hour.

As mentioned earlier, referral codes get you 5,000+ free points towards free service or phone discounts. Have to apply the code when you activate / join rewards.

You can't share codes on SD so you'd have to message someone - outside of SD, course Smilie - who can give you one before activating if you need one Smilie

I can confirm this as a current member who has referred 50+ people.

in my case , two hours and issue still none solved.

the first agent seems very promsing but then line got disconnected purposely or not
the second and third agents seems to be only repeating the script and I stopped them from reading and decided to just return the phone as is. And just realized, I need to pay shipping back to them.

As stated earlier the user has to have active service to redeem so needs to pay for at least 2 months, maybe 3 so not worth it for most.

From how it was taped/sealed, it didn't like to be sealed by Apple.
Just check warranty from apple website with serial number. You can know if it's brand new. Even it has any issue, there is one year warranty from Apple and you can always get things fixed. But if it's me, I won't fix it immediately if it has some minor issues, I will send it to apple after It's unlocked so I can make sure get a unlocked replacement.

I think you can, the only issue is that without connecting the line to an account, you have no idea if this phone has been activated or not. I guess you should be able to create an account when doing activation. But I have no personal experience on that...
Yeah, I'd definitely recommend setting up an account with them so you can verify that the line shows as active. As I recall, it's simply a matter of entering an email and password and some basic personal info which doesn't even have to be accurate (I'm sure they have a lot of "John Doe's"). Once logged into the account, you can just click "Activate" from the main page and see the device status once it's done.

I attached a picture of the box, are those at the top and the bottom the Apple seals? Thanks!
Yes, that looks just like a brand new sealed iPhone directly from Apple with the exception of the grey "total by Verizon" envelope and the "at checkout, scan barcode" sticker (which the carrier applied on top of the Apple printed bar codes).

If you have ordered phone(s) from Totalwireless.com before, and used the same email address ordering this time from StraightTalk.com, and tried to activate using the same email, that's recipe of disaster. Their system will NOT recognize you, and would ask your credit card #, because they don't think you made the plan purchase from Totalwireless yet... You have to call them...... and I waited >40 min for various customer service to resolve this... Basically, they have to unlink your email address from Totalwireless, and re-register the email address with StraightTalk... If I knew there was such a hassle, I may not have ordered from them in the first place..

I've had accounts at Total, Tracfone, and ST with the same email before and never had issues activating at their respective sites. Curious to see if anyone else has run into issues with it. It might have been that the plan wasn't attached to your phone properly … that sometimes happens.

If anyone else is activating while using the same email between multiple companies and worried about it, I'd maybe recommend going to the ST website and logging in first before hitting "activate". That may hint at a potential problem if it won't log you into the ST site and avoid hitting an issue mid-activation. In other words, make sure that you can successfully log in at ST and clear up any issues with that before attempting activation.
