Have you seen a better price for this model? It's considered the gold standard for small form factor PC's and I've never seen it that low.

First, I was ranting about the opportunistic price inflation in the PC space. If you read my comment, I was referring to spending $200 for a PSU in general, which is unfathomable to me.

Second, I understand that Corsair sells good-quality PSUs, but we all know that we pay the Corsair brand tax when we buy them. You can find top-tier, equally good SFX PSUs for much less. My rule of thumb for a decent PSU deal is $1 per 10W, so a 1000W Gold PSU on sale should cost ~$100 for it to be a a good deal, IMO. Plus a little premium for higher ratings, special form factors, and/or specific brands.

Third, I would never criticize someone for how they choose to spend their money. I, too, have paid premium for specific parts because I wanted, and not because I needed, said parts. But, holy guacamole!!! $200 is a lot to pay for a PSU that's supposedly on sale.

Your Cybernetics Labs link ranks this as the second-best PSU for the SFX form factor, with the top spot going to an 850W PSU—not even a 1000W model.
The SFF/ITX market is a premium space, typically targeting builds with budgets over $1,500 USD. The next 1000W PSU on the list is priced at $179.99.
Keep in mind, most users aren't buying SFX components, so the R&D and manufacturing yields for these are smaller compared to standard PSUs, leading to higher prices.
Additionally, the Cultist Network hasn't been updated with this PSU, as their list is from 2023, while this model was released in mid-2024.
