Wired magazine really liked this model

https://www.wired.com/review/tcl-q6-2023/

Though.. and I'm not sure if it's the exact same model? Best Buy has a TCL Q6 for $300

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tcl-...lsrc=aw.ds

I've been blown away by the picture quality of the Q7 , this TV's "big brother" though that will cost you $200 more (if you set a camelcamelcamel price watch I've seen the price drop to as low as $450 on amazon )

https://www.amazon.com/TCL-55QM75...r=1-1&th=1

Just to give you a heads up I can confirm user complaints that the TV interface can be a bit sluggish and slow in terms of how quickly it takes the TV to load your apps (Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV and so forth) and the apps themselves are sometimes a bit slow to respond, not to the point where I would find the TV unwatchable just more annoying than anything else sometimes. For my Q7 TV if I wasn't so cheap I would just grab one of the better quality roku's like the roku ultra (I've heard reports the cheaper rokus in "stick" version that plug into the side of the TV can overheat and slow down though that's just internet research on my part no direct experience with that )

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09T4VZ...dp_it&th=1

But that's $80 right there for the roku set , been known to drop as low as $60 according to camelcamelcamel apparently. I would just try the TV out and see if the sometimes-sluggishness is something you can live with.

Switch to apps only mode and the interface will be faster.

I took a shot at the Q681G(55") model at Woot for the same price. Basic 1 year warranty though. My credit card provides additional 1 year. $6 shipping or free with Prime.

Seems to be a step up with full array local dimming. Same specs otherwise, I "think".

Is this the version that is mini led? I feel like that has gotten confusing. There was also a 6 series that had mini led that was around $400.

No. Not the one in op. It has no local dimming.

The model I mentioned in the previous post has local dimming but not by mini led.

Don't think mini led, especially in this size tv, can be had for these prices as of yet.

Where in the specs does it say the Sam's Club model has or does not have local dimming?

Lol. Well, maybe it does have mini led, FALD, with all sorts of other "unlisted' bells and whistles. Guess there just too many to list.

Wouldn't you like to know what features your set "has or does not have", lol?

I am not saying it has mini led which would be a leap, and I am not disputing your claim. They are both TCL Q6 Series though so its a fair assumption they both have the same local dimming. I am trying to find a source that states so or states not. I think thats reasonable. Wouldnt it say direct-lit or edge lit or whatever?

"Where in the specs does it say the Sam's Club model has or does not have local dimming?"

Now, "you" are saying it has local dimming?

No confusion in the "681G" listed specs at TCL.com. It definitely has FALD. A premium feature worth mentioning.

I'll leave it to you to clear up your confusion about the Sam's one.

This may be an alternative that just became active on Nov 18 at Costco.
Hisense 55" Class - QD6 Series - 4K UHD QLED LCD TV
$240 + Free Shipping/ Also in Club, 3 year manufacturer warranty.
I used AI for comparison, they are very similar with minor diffs. Both support Chromecast.

Q7 is mini-led and in a different class, mini-leds have great pictures in general. Old 6xx TCL mini-leds have been $300/55" before but no minis have been that cheap since they moved to the Q naming.

Just pointing out that being happy with a Q7 has very little relation to anything about a Q6.
