I can't decide if this is a good deal or not. Amazon for example has similar sized units with a rigid frame, sand bags, etc for $60.

Is the inflatable design with the need for guywires an improvement or not?

Personally I've always been a bit put off by these inflatable models, since they aren't like air mattresses where you blow them up then they're good to go. They have a pump blowing air in constantly, like those inflatable lawn decorations. That means a noisy pump around where you're presumably trying to watch a movie or show. I'd imagine that has to be somewhat distracting.

Nah I tried one this summer and it's not noticeable at alll... what I will say is at this size I would imagine that's far too small though. The one I had was a 30 ft one.

Distance will play a role there too, and the quality of the pump. Just like how some fans are louder than others, the quality of the product can matter for how loud it is. Then with a 114" less than 10 ft screen you're probably only sitting 10 ft away, so much closer to it. With a 30ft screen you're a lot further away from the source of the noise. Granted I can't speak to this particular product or how noisy it is. I just know that I'd personally avoid inflatable screens because of it.

I've been rocking outdoor movies for 20 years and have had 3 screens. First was a homemade PVC frame. Worked, just took too long to set up and knock down. Then was an inflatable from this same company. Complete garbage. Any wind makes it a complete non-starter. Just not remotely functional.

What you want is something like this:

There is one on AWD for the same price as this one. I prefer bigger screens but ymmv.

Whips open in seconds, screen snaps in. Easy up and down. Strong enough for all but very breezy environments. 9nly thing better would be permanent installation.
