How does the quality of this set compare to the great deal Macy's (and later Amazon), but now expired All-Clad D5 10-Piece Stainless Steel 5-Ply Bonded Cookware Set (https://slickdeals.net/f/17876433-all-clad-d5-brushed-stainless-10-piece-cookware-set-249-99-fs-or-in-store-pickup-macy-s) deal?

Did you stop and think about this for a second? You're comparing a $1500 set of cookware that was low priced due to an error, to set or the MSRP is a third of the price.

Yes, I did. I want to know how big of a quality difference it is between the 2 sets. Maybe the difference is not big enough to make a difference for most users. Not sure as I don't have any experience with cookware.

Are you willing to spend $900 for D5? If the answer is no get the D3 on sale at the same price instead of this one. Look on CL or FB marketplace. The secondhand value of each tells you something. All-Clad D3 and D5 are worth something used. Kitchenaid isn't. Many prefer the D3 over the D5 because the 3 layers make it more responsive to temperature changes (up or down) on the range. More layers don't appear to have a major upside other than heat retention. The only thing D5 has over D3 that is notable is the cookware has lips on the sides which help for pouring.
