For what it's worth, I've owned the Gen1 and the sound was really good. ANC performance was decent as well but didn't do so hot with wind noise until a later update. Soundwise I think the Gen2's are very similar but they do improve on their ANC. App worked well and paired without a hitch.
I like them. In comparison to the AirPod Pros they replaced, the pass through is not as good, but the noise cancelling is about equal.
They are more comfortable than the AirPods, but they go in your ear upside down which seems weird. They stay there well enough, but can be hard to get ahold of.
Battery is worlds better for both the ear pieces and the case.
I just bought them. So far so good. Fit my ear and feel comfortable. ANC seems ok nothing close to My Bose quiet comforts but I wouldn't expect it to be. My old Jabra active 65t's finally died so this seemed like a good transition. Using the case as a Bluetooth transmitter sold me for when I travel.

I would say that the 8 Gen 2 are a good improvement over the 8's. With the 8 Gen 2, Jabra has completely closed the performance gap between the 8 and the 10. Now if we are talking performance between the 10 and the 10 Gen 2, then I would agree that there is virtually no meaningful difference in performance between those two... but I would definitely fork over the extra $$$ for the 8 Gen 2 over the 8.
