Yes, that's a little bit more than $823 on average, but you're going from "iron-age" DSLRs to "space-age" Mirrorless.
The R8 has top-of-the-line Eye-tracking autofocus, a burst rate of 40fps, preburst rate of 0.5 sec @ 30fps, auto-detect light flicker adjustment for video, zero-crop 4K video, 100% dead silent operation (no mirror noise, no shutter noise), and many other features I've neglected to mention. You have access to all the newer RF glass too.
I've taken stills at 25,600 ISO which are entirely usable.
It's not perfect, but when it's that big of a leap forward for only a few hundred more...it doesn't make sense to go with older tech that's 3/4th or more of the price.
