Lowest price I've seen in a while for Milwaukee track saw kit with packout case included. Please note that guide rail is not included and needs to be purchased separately.

Track saw is compatible with guide rail of many other brands, such as Wen, Powertech, Makita, etc. although the kickback prevention feature only works with Milwaukee guide rails.

What's the difference between the normal saw and this? New to the track saw

You're better off doing some research but the gist is that track saws are designed to cut along a track. Guiding the cut without worrying about movement. They can also do guided plunge cuts since they sit on a rail. If you cut a lot of sheet goods or thin wood then it can be a worthwhile investment.

If you only do an occasional long cut on an oversized piece and already have a circular saw then it's less worth it.

Thanks for the info. I currently use a table saw for guided cuts. Was wondering if this would help as well

By the time you purchase Milwaukee tracks you could buy the Makita SP6000J1 with (2) 55" tracks and still be cheaper than this Milwaukee.

You bet. This is more for wide pieces that are too difficult or tedious to cut on a tablesaw. Like ripping down a 4' x 8' sheet of plywood

The Milwaukee saw and track doesn't have anti-kickback, just anti-tip

Says $476 for me, but that's with military discount. Where are you seeing $469?

I was not a believer until I paid a lot of money and bought this track saw. It is bloody amazing. I can rip pre-finished plywood with no tearout and a finished edge so sharp you will cut your fingers if you don't wear gloves. It saves me from having to break out the table saw a lot of the time. It's super precise. It is very expensive and yes you can cut wood many ways but this is an elegant, superior and effective way that changed my perspective.
Installing doors? Rip them to finished width or height using the track saw. Perfect for pocket doors or bifold doors. You can cut a tiny amount of material off without tearout.
