My primary complaint I would say is trying to share a 360 video in the original quality is...an effort. Mostly everything you post gets compressed.

You can get the latter pretty cheap on Temu, and it's good quality: https://share.temu.com/G9x47QaDKUA
Edit: I just realized it probably makes more sense to watch someone's professionally made videos to get an idea of the cool stuff you can do since mine are just raw 360 footage...hah.

Seems X3 is also cheaper by $100
Have wanted to add one to the top of a SXS, but not sure about how much abuse it will take, or if it would be wiped off considering the currently avalible vulnerable mounting required.
Is there a older model to pick up on eBay with simliar functionality to test the concept of functionality with that is value oriented to look into?
Does anyone make Clear domes to mount a camera inside for protection that is optically transparent to a camera like this? Or possible a better form factor camera to consider?

I consider it an independent thing from a typical action cam. If you want something to throw around and swim with, I'd get a Go Pro style cam instead. Having two big convex lenses makes these things very prone to scratches and breaks. There are covers for the lenses, but they degrade the video quality and stitching of the images.
If you want to record everything around you so you can change focal points in editing, or to make 3D videos for virtual reality, then this can do that.
