Not sure if I'm an edge case, but for me I don't/can't park in my garage, and i didn't want to install an EV charger to the outside of the house (cost). So i just keep my charger plugged in inside the garage, and then run the cable outside and have a cheap $10 plastic mount I screwed in to the garage door frame to hold the actual handle/head of the charger. Cable runs underneath the closed garage door just fine when closed.
Just sharing as an option if your use case is similar to mine.
