I'd probably take a pro-level Stihl over a Husqvarna but in this range, I'd rather have this Husqvarna to a ms271.

I'd probably take a pro-level Stihl over a Husqvarna but in this range, I'd rather have this Husqvarna to a ms271.

Haven't needed service. I do all the routine service. The saw has been a tank. Fairly heavy seasonal use at our off grid acreage cutting down trees and doing firewood… and occasional use at home. Never fails me.
One big improvement though - I use more aggressive professional chains and they work beautifully. Homeowner and Mid-grade saws tend to come with safety feature laden chains for less experienced users.
Chain saws tend to come in three categories - cheaper occasional use homeowner, mid-duty like the Husqvarna Rancher and Stihl Farm Boss (both well-named), and professional grade. Most homeowners are not willing to pay the big price premium for the pro grade saws.
As to Husqvarna or Stihl, what you have for local parts and service support might make the difference. I've asked professional tree guys and you'll find advocates on both sides. I'm not against Stihl - my weedwacker and blower are Stihl. One thing about Stihl - they're hyper-protective of their local dealers and attempt to keep their parts off online stores.
