This was posted 2 years ago with a bit lower price at $1299 but this is the lowest it has been in awhile. If you are wanting it lower, you can price match at Lowe's and it will be around $1150 with the 10% difference added. I realize people hate on LG due to the compressor and what not if you look hard enough there is something negative on everything.

The hate some have for appliances stems from technology to add bells and whistles and the fundamental features, (what makes a good refrigerator) haven't been addressed without cutting corners to make the appliance affordable.

Started getting error codes shortly after the 1 year warranty expired πŸ™„ ice maker quit working. Then and bout 6 months later, the refrigerator stopped cooling properly.

Have this about two years. Only problem I have had is that I have had to "reboot" to get ice maker working once. I flipped the breaker for two minutes since easier that unplugging in my install. Why do I have to reboot a fridge? A few times ice dispenser was jammed or something but switching to crushed cleared it. Got a deal on it $800 or so delivered from BBY Outlet for a scratch and dent that's not visible in my spot.

Because it was so smart, its circuit melted.

My BIL and I have this fridge. Within the first year his craft ice maker quit working. 6 mos later my craft ice maker quit working. 2 mos after that my compressor fan quit- that was an easy DIY repair for like $50 so I did that…

But talk about problematic between the two of us.

I'd keep looking and would no recommend based on my own experience. Especially if the craft ice is a selling point for you. Search online- there's a possible class action suit coming down the pike against them for the craft ice balls specifically as they know it's an issue but keep selling them regardless.

Who the hell needs their fridge to be smart? The more tech that's added the more stuff can break.

In my experience, the "smart" features are mostly software-driven. If you can get them to work, they will continue working until the software becomes obsolete. The basic stuff is more prone to failure. I have a 15-year-old LG fridge. Nothing smart, but it melted its interior because of the failed light relay (it was a class action suit). The majority of the shelves and some other plastic parts fell apart. The worst fridge I've ever seen.

I like LG products, but won't touch their refrigerators - they won't stand behind them even after 'repairing' them. Too many horror stories - stay away!

Whirlpool / any of their brands like Amana. Frigidaire is my 2nd pick.
