Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Great price, but typical MSRP is $90-110 since launch. I've never seen it 150, shame on woot for needing to lie when $50.99 is a great price!

For those not in the know, this is black version which is their horizontal 4:3 ratio sensor meant for typical use to see left and right of your door. Their white doorbell version (not to be confused with the white chime) is 3:4 ratio for more vertical usage and a better chance at seeing a package if you don't want/need to see much on the left and right.

Signed in just to say this apparently works really well with Homeassistant and frigate. Definitely right up my alley on de-clouding my devices and network.

Bought this on a previous deal and it's great. Has wired lan port, microsd slot, supports RTSP output for use with other devices, and doesn't have a subscription cost. Video quality is better than our old OG ring pro, detection and playback work better, and I can stream it with my other security cams since it's not a closed system.

I bought this and only later realized after reading some older threads that the white one is 4:3. I actually need that. My entrance is a short corridor, which means the doorway has walls on either side. Therefore, 4:3 would work better for me than 3:4. With this one I'll be mostly seeing the brick facade on either side. I immediately tried to cancel the order and even wrote to customer service. Unfortunately it was outside the 2 hr cancellation window.

It's funny they don't allow cancellation when the deliver is almost 2 weeks out. Now I'm debating whether to just keep it, or refuse the package, and buy the white one. This is a good price, but I figure I might as well get the right one.

I moved into a new house which already have a ring hooked up. Paying $10 a month right now, so wanting to change to something without subscription. Will store data in my NAS. Hoping install and setup will be easy. Let's see.

Agree, the white version is best for your case - it also has package detection and a better chance of seeing it. You'll love the quality and yes, no subscription fees is great. If you don't need 24/7 recording with a NVR, just stick a memory card inside too. I would return - if amazon, I would get return and get the 3:4 ratio white so at least you have the package detection feature.

But you have the ratio swapped, so to avoid confusion on others, it's:
Black Doorbell Camera = 4x3 (horizontal/2560×1920)
White Doorbell Camera = 3x4 (vertical/1920×2560)
